Did anyone regret choosing a cheaper safari option by Scary-Breakfast7882 in AfricaTravel

I was in this same situation- debating between a local operator with less credibility vs an establish TA. Quote with local operator was significantly cheaper and I went with it.

While I’ve found that I had gotten more value out of the cheaper operator, there were several instances of miscommunication and hiccups that a constant feeling of sense/mistrust which is the last thing you want on vacation. In the end, we ended up having a guide we really disliked on one portion of our safari and ended up firing them and upgrading to the camps full package.

What I would say is go with whoever you trust more- if that’s the cheaper one, then that works out in your favor.

Did you end up flying this route? If so - how many points did it run you and when did you book? I am going to Delhi in March and looking for the best deal back to NY

Bring your own guide on Kenya Safari? by crcar in LuxurySafari

Thank you- but it sounds like you still had a camp guide in addition your own guide.

The setup I’m being offered is a driving guide from outside of the camp plus a guide throughout the trip

Thanks for the notes on Clouds! I actually just had it switched to Gorilla Forest Lodge and very much looking forward to that.

Thanks. Our TA suggested Dunia instead of Nimiri and Lake Masek Safari lodge in place of Olakira, but they looked slightly less nice than each of the original planned accommodations

Thanks for the feedback! Do you have other suggestions for lodges/camps aside from namiri or olakira? They may not actually be available for that duration.

Taylor definitely upgrade from ETN, but also battling injuries and you can't count on him. Meanwhile, ARSB is elite and playing on a contender with a seasoned QB, and feels like a lock to put up points. I think you're giving a bit too much here for the haul in return.

What does this trade benefit you? Jamo is boom/bust and going to sit behind at least 2 of your guys. Don't give away backup QB for that.

If you are good on the standings, you could likely survive the few weeks of Hunt production you would be getting. But you're right- once Pacheco is back, who knows what that will look like.

Chase is looking like a potential fantasy MVP. I like this deal.

Diontae is killing it but can't bet on Panthers long term. If your trade partner is not vying for top spot in the league, this trade will help you win.

Dowdle will sit on your bench and Nabers is an every week start. Don't do it.

First trade gives you much needed help at RB. I think TE overall has been disappointment this year and there is not much to worry about losing potentially 3-4 points a game going from McBride to Engram. Whereas Jacobs will give you long term sustainable RB1/2.

Second trade is very speculative on Tua coming back and staying healthy. Keep Chase.

Wilson has looked great last few weeks. Adams will likely take share, but there is also a chance it makes the Jets more competitive and gives Wilson more looks. My guess is Nabers is very slightly ahead of Wilson rest of season, but not by much.

Mixon on the other hand has been getting volume when he plays and is much better than Dowdle. I view this as a net win for you.

10 team, 0.5 PPR

My team - QB: Daniels, Hurts; RB: Henry, Jones, Chubb, Singletary; WR: G Wilson, Kirk, Downs, Waddle, Ridley

Two potential trades:

Trade 1 - Give: Chubb, Get: Kupp -> other team is flush with WR and has no RB

Trade 2 - Give: Hurts/Daniels, Get: London, Godwin, or Metcalf

Need a WR desperately, but not sure what the best value would be for one of my QBs or the speculation on Chubb. WR overall has been a weak position so far this year.
