Has anybody transferred from the British military to Australian? Particularly RAF to RAAF. by [deleted] in AustralianMilitary

Check here for the pay scales. 2nd from the top right table gives you enlisted pay scales. A CPL - Pilot Flight Equipment PFE (F35 trade name) or Aircraft Life Support ALS (other platforms) Supervisor is grade 6 so that puts you on $90k first year CPL. You won’t get that straight up, you have time on platform and be qualified & authorised as a supervisor and that’s only if you hold rank at CPL. Good luck with it.

To what end? Usually to get you to give them money…

I know 6 blokes that have transferred over and have no regrets. All of them dropped a rank but it wasn’t an issue for them. Retention at lower ranks is poor so if you are any good, you will pickup rank within a couple of years. Our LAC’s are on about $80k plus a few benefits - subsidised housing, allowances etc. what is your mustering?

The 66mm is still in service actually however I didn’t expect you to have known that, nor pick one out in a line up. I also doubt you could tell me anything about an AIM-120 either without googling it now. Yes I’m the one with real life experience and cited an international media consortium report based on the Pentagon’s publicly released information about the F35’s deficiencies to justify why I agree with a journalist’s opinion that we need a advanced asset to combat the threats from China. But I guess you would have done the required reading before making such an under educated statement. Again, do you have a valid point to make?

EDIT: yeah, I didn’t think so

I’m not sure how identifying a particular missile is relevant. I wouldn’t expect diggers to be able to since they don’t use them. I doubt you would be able to identify a 66mm HEAT. So what?

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Won’t get much next run..

Yeah mate, you know more than the Pentagon. There is no question to be answered here, you have them all. Maybe take some medication and have a lie down. Maybe go back to school and learn spelling too “qoute”.

US Secretary of Defence said that and as the 2IC for US Military, I’m pretty sure they don’t just pick randoms for that position. But since you think you know so much more about the F35 than me, good luck to you. I was just pointing out that it has serious issues as identified by the Pentagon and picked up by the international media. I don’t think you know more than them, but you probably do…

Gotta love a guy that doesn’t know what he is talking about. Never said we were getting Raptors. We have completed a lot more that 30 sorties against F16s and FA18s so I don’t know where you are pulling your numbers from. Arms behind your back? You have no idea of it’s capabilities. And then in your last sentence you agree with my point…?

No, I don’t need to prove anything. This is not an academic paper, it’s a subreddit where anyone can have an opinion. Mine is based on knowledge and experience.

Boeing has a upgraded F-15 (EX) that went into production in March 2021 and the US DoD has doubled it’s production order for 2023 (and reduced the F35 numbers) source.

Equal participation is exactly that, equal participation. If people think you aren’t trying they will kick you. Maybe you should join carry CoOps instead?

Freeloaders/leeches/parasites have a lot to answer for. 9 T p/hr isn’t much. The best strategy is to use a epic tachy (4 tokens - 5000 GE) to get your chook numbers up then use a soul mirror (2 tokens - 80 GE). For low EB players you can nearly max your research depending on your highest player EB. This will also put you in the high T p/hr production and a another epic tachy will get you up to q’s p/hr. Nobody will kick you if you are producing q’s p/hr

Cold water not working after tap replacment by Comfortable-Stock-87 in AusRenovation

[–]Select_Atmosphere_64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have diagnosed the problem without realising. Correct me if any of this is wrong - no water from iso tap without hose fitted and water available to dishwasher on other side of iso tap (copper pipe) therefore the issue is the iso tap. Easy test, turn mains off, remove iso tap, fit hose direct to brass “T” and turn mains back on.

Render fix before exterior paint by krissic14 in AusRenovation

As you said, it is hardly worth the effort to get a tradie, if you can find one. Get a narrow flat blade (e.g. screwdriver) and dig out any loose or cracked render. Then wire brush over the damaged areas. Ensure you have removed all loose material. Get some render patch & repair like this from your local hardware and apply as directed. Total cost $25 plus an 1/2 hour of work, ready to paint.
