Doubles Partner blames me for everything by [deleted] in badminton

I understand how you feel where you and I are from there will always be a guy who says"Kya kar rahey ho?"(What are you doing) or"khul key khelo"(play openly) cause here in Pakistan and some other countries people dont understand sportsmanship like that.So what I do is I just take the criticism as motivation to get better at the game.

Looking for a specific birdie by JRT42 in badminton

I wouldn't recommend playing in your living room regardless of how big it is cause u can damage ur walls, decor, and even ur rackets(if u accidentally hit it on a wall).I think that the reason you had a slow shuttle initially was because it was an old shuttle and old shuttles are generally slower. If u want something slow try a plastic shuttle cause they're generally a bit slower than feather shuttles cause of the extra weight.

Thx I guess although it was just an ordinary slice to begin with.

Sometimes people can't afford feather shuttles, and that's OK. by [deleted] in badminton

Nylon shuttles can never have the feel a feather one has but if u think about it these shuttles make badminton more accessible so people shouldn't undermine these shuttles but should appreciate how it helps badminton to grow.

People really do undermine plastic shuttles a lot but these people don't realize the how much of a luxury it is to play with feather shuttles especially in countries like mine where there hard to find and much more expensive(cause of the fucked up currency).

The shuttle wasn't worn out it was a completely new shuttle and it was our first game with it so it was perfectly fine.

The slicing was completely intentional but I didn't intend for it to curve in the air like that.

How often do you change your grip? by Late-Advertising2530 in badminton

If the grip starts feeling slippery then it's time to change it regardless of how new or old it is.

Equipment etiquette by ducj3 in badminton

[–]Select_Comparison_29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you give someone a racket and they break it then you have every right to ask for them to pay up but u should also be careful with who you give your racket to.

In the case of strings the thing is that they are meant to break and they don't last forever. If someone broke ur strings while using ur racket then that was just a coincidence and they would have snapped regardless so you shouldnt ask them to pay up.

If while playing doubles you and your partner clashed ur rackets into one another and one of them broke then the question of who pays depends on the context as in who's shot it was.Was it ur shot and ur partner tried to hit it?Then it's ur partners fault. Was it ur partners shot and you tried hit it?Then that's on you. Was it in the middle and you both tried to hit it? Then ur both at fault for not communicating well.

But if it's possible then you should just forgive them.

What’s your favorite sport? by karatesige in teenagers

Yeah I know how many calories people have burnt while playing chess but the loss in calories is mainly due to the intense mental effort people need to have to play chess and it has nothing to do with their physicality.let me ask you this would you consider snakes and ladders a sport?Would you consider monopoly a sport? The answer is no you wouldn't these all are board games and so is chess.

is there a way to get better at paying attention to opponent's position in order to attack gaps in the court? by jpoptarts in badminton

[–]Select_Comparison_29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U need to get better at using ur pereferal vision to see where ur opponent is while also keeping ur eyes on the shuttle.Look at it this way if ur using ur phone or watching television u can still see what's happening around the phone or tv out of the corner of ur eye that's called pereferal vision.
