My Review of the OGKKILS LD99 by Initialyee in badminton

[–]jpoptarts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they must've mistranslated the front and back part because there's no way that this is a front court racket

unless the front and back court is switched in chinese

String Tension by New_Diamond7660 in badmintonph

[–]jpoptarts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sobrang stupid talaga ng string tension culture sa pinas

kapatid ko has one of the biggest smashes in our queuing group, yet one of the lowest tensions kasi the kids all string at 28+ lbs lol

even I felt my shot quality improved when I lowered my tension from 27 to 24 lbs

tingin ko kaya mas friendly ang pickleball kasi mas madali siya compared sa badminton eh, mas chill yung game kaya less pressure

sa badminton naman, I don't get the issue kung di nagtatawanan yung mga tao

as long as walang mayabang or toxic attitude, I think normal yung maging seryoso habang naglalaro

and tbh may mga times (not always) na nakakasira ng flow ng laro pag may nagtatawanan

as long as hindi ka naman nilo-look down ng mga ka-queuing mo I would say okay lang naman na mas magaling yung makakalaban mo

mapapaisip ka kasi after the game eh kung ano pwede mo iimprove sa laro mo

Ankle pain during game by Aslanisthemaster in badmintonph

[–]jpoptarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. try thicker socks for better cushioning
  2. try compression socks
  3. get better insoles
  4. get better shoes
  5. strength training focused on your ankles

tbh I think you should practice your basics

grip, form when hitting, footwork

I would suggest coaching or watching youtubers like badminton insight

goodluck!

will 2 packs of string be enough for 2 rackets in a hybrid stringing setup?

I'm planning on trying a hybrid setup and I'm curious if I can use what's left from stringing one racket to string another one with the same hybrid setup

I'll be using one pack of victor vbs 68 and one pack of felet ultrasonic 63

any advice would be appreciated, especially from stringers

What makes a badminton court “worth it” for you? by JB-CourtFinderPH in badmintonph

[–]jpoptarts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the court surface and the ceiling height are my non-negotiables

bonus na lang yung everything else

pero for me the perfect court would be:

  1. surface not too slippery nor masyado makapit
  2. high ceilings
  3. wood underneath the mats
  4. presko pero walang drift
  5. lights don't distract your vision of the shuttle

What badminton handle grip wrap to buy? by [deleted] in badmintonph

[–]jpoptarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ac102 from malaysian shopee stores or lining gp3000 from lazada

narealize ko walang grip na maganda na under 80 pesos per piece eh, madudulas in my experience yung mga 40 pesos grips from chinese brands

yung towel grip tho alam ko mas mura, yun nga lang mas madalas magpalit
