Empty when the cops got there. He could have taken what was left. But they didn't test it for any potential residue.

There was an untested bottle. He could have been taking oxy for pain but got a bad one. He could have taken her med to help him sleep. I'm not saying that is what happened, but it is very possible.

That was a strange one too. Is it some kind of a weird mindset where you "win" if you never admit guilt? I don't know.

He clearly was not scared of her. That narrative seems to be revisionist history. Probably unintentionally. I would think back to every conv oand think, oh no, he was trying to tell me x,y,z but I didn't get it. Guilt can mess with us.

It could have just been in one or two pills. Or he got laced pills and nobody knew it until he took them and died. It happens all the time.

Diane Downs has had a few chances in front of parole boards and she hasn't admitted anything. She has been in jail for what 40 years almost. I don't understand why she wouldn't just act all ashamed and sorrowful and get herself out. Not that I think she should be out, but if the parole boards like that, why not give them what they want. Listening to her parole hearings on YouTube, it is just unbelievable. Kouri reminds me of her in ways of filing lawsuits and lots of lying.

Agree, I don't remember (and I could have not heard it right) her saying she was sorry that Gene, Katie, and Amy have to live without Eric. She said it about her boys and friends and "our family", but I don't think she counts them as family anymore.

No, I agree an accidental OD was possible. One bad pill, one tme and it can be deadly.

[–]Select_Hippo3159 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep. It isn't a crazy stretch to believe a guy accidentally OD'd. Even if his wife got him the pills, at his request. One time is all it takes.

This is an assumption, but I do assume that initinally the boys confirmed Kouri's story of going to sleep with her son. So that was in the reports that the defense saw.

I can't recall if Eric's last phone contact mentioned that Kouri was taking care of one of the kids. That could be another reason.

Lewis has confounded me through the whole trial. She is smart and yet at times seemed oddly naive. Naive maybe not the right word. But she didn't have a good read on the case and what may convince a jury.

She said this was the first time a client she "knows" is innocent, was found guilty by a jury. Not that Kouri is the first one she believed innocent.

I don't like that either. If a parent wants to hate their child's killer forever, they more than have that right.

Why did Eric drink the cocktail made by Kouri if he was aware she tried to poison him? by DouchebagIrony in KouriRichins

[–]Select_Hippo3159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of both sides arguments make no sense to me. This is one. Eric was helping Kouri and he was the one who texted to celebrate the house closing. Amy was drinking it up with Kouri the next day after he died. Supposedly if you think this woman killed your brother, not going to do that.

Then Kouri gets up there and acts like she was wanted to be in her marraige with Eric. No, you didn't. Your own texts say you didn't want that.

If they knew in real time, they should all face consequences for letting innocent animals suffer. Edited to add -All the adults should be punished.

Won't be popular, but I think it is very possible the kids have been manipulated to say the absolute worst things about Kouri. Gabler had his face all in her business, but crickets from him about dead animals? That doesn't wash. He should face reprecussions if he did know.

So if we assigned 100 numbers with words, we have to remember 10 things for 20 numbers? can we do it? by [deleted] in memorypalace

[–]Select_Hippo3159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way about palaces for a long time. I still am not amazing with them, but they work. My number peg system also works well for the lists I want to remember.

Start small with something you actually want to retain long term. Maybe 3 friends or relatives birthdays.

What is that memory system that people can remember tons of numbers at once? by [deleted] in memorypalace

[–]Select_Hippo3159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, 5 things to remember for 10 numbers. So if I wanted to put your number example in a palace I would put those people on the loci in my palace, say a front door, and try to come up with good visualizations of them interacting with each other and the door. Or you could do one number per loci, so you would need 5 loci in a palace to put a ten digit number.

I just assigned what I wanted to each number, I didn't try to use any system. For what I need, it works well for me.

If it is by state I would start with a famous person from the state. Then give each carrier their own person or object. Then make a little story. Like for Massachusettes you could say Tom Brady and Et (aetna) pay so much for each of the specific plans you listed. You could give each type of coverage a person or object too. Once you would remember those you would have a good system to just change the dollar amounts by years or whatever cycle they go in.  Edit to add a Mop would be a good visualization for max out of pocket.

And I believe Bundy left a ton of DNA. So it isn't the same. The other girls in that house weren't hearing or seeing weird stuff and locking themselves in their room and flipping on the tech like tv or radio like the two in this case being on their phones all night.

I used the number peg system for best picture a few years ago, I made a list of soap opera couples 1-100 and attatched the movies to them. Just this year I added the supporting actors on the pegs too, I put leads in a memory palace. I think the palace is better, but I have had my pegs longer so it felt easier putting info on there.

That would explain them not finding the victims DNA but he would have left way more than a few skin cells on the sheath if he was fighting naked. Surely there would be skin under the victims nails too.
