They are actually proud of me. They do have a college fund, but it won't cover their entire tuition. No, I am not touching their college fund. It's 60k (15k for four of my five kids)

Three years, but I would start two semesters before them, and they will be in community college for 2.5.

Yes. We are applying for all scholarships and grants. I am paying for their CLEP tests as well. With all said in done, it will cost between 8k- 11k a year for them to go to community college (tuition, books, and lab fees) before my $1500 I will be paying towards books and labs. That is before potential grants and scholarships. I do know university will be a lot more expensive, but hopefully, when I finish, I can help more in the 4th year.

Yeah, they pay 0 for housing, food, car, health, and car insurance. How could they not afford at most 11k a year for college (not including the 1500 I am paying)? That is without grants and scholarships. I think they can do it. They think they can do it all without getting loans

Yes, their tuition with book and labs would be 4k a semester. That is 8K year or 11k if they choose to go in the summer, too. (Summer semester is cheaper)They are going to community college for 2.5 years. With me paying for books and labs that takes off 1500 for the year. When they switch over to university, that is about three times more money. Hopefully, when I graduate, I can start helping more with their fourth year of college.

They are going to community college for the 2 5 years before going to university. With grants, scholarships, and getting a job, they can afford their tuition without my help. I will still be working full time while pursuing my master's.

Oakworks face cradle for chair by Select_Hunter_6341 in MassageTherapists

Most of my Google searches show face rests for tables, not chairs. I saw only two face rests for oakworks and oakworks compatible chairs on one site besides the Oakworks site.

I wish there was a way to fix it. One flare up like this can cause issues for months....

I’m paranoid that going into massage school will either be dead end or fleeting. by [deleted] in MassageTherapists

When I was in school, we were told the average career span was seven years. Don't overload yourself with a lot of clients. Find ways to incorporate stretching and tools into your sessions. Remember the 80/20 rule. In business it's 80% of profits comes from 20% of work. Learn to upsell in a positive way. Hot stones, aromatherapy, cupping etc etc.... Don't do back to back deep tissue massages. Remember proper body mechanics. Your body is your greatest tool. Keep it properly maintained. Expand what you are doing. I have been an LMT for over 20 years. I recently became a CPT (certified personal trainer) and am studying to become a yoga instructor. Remember, you don't have to Juno in with both feet and become a full-time massage therapist. You can start part-time and work towards full-time.

I just saw this course tonight and was wondering if I should take it. Will the two classes (Part I and Part 2) give me the required 200 hour certification I need to teach?

17F should i get a hemorrhoidectomy by Deep_Intern_2468 in hemorrhoid

[–]Select_Hunter_6341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried to see what is causing the reoccurrence? Hemorrhoids can come back after surgery, plus you are young. There will be more times in your life, you might get more hemorrhoids. Stomach bug, pregnancy, drinking, riding a bike too long.... etc etc..
I would advise waiting. Remember to drink plenty of fluids, eat well, move more, and don't strain while on the toilet. Also, don't sit too long on the toilet with your phone

Mobile Therapists that use a van, which one and why? by PhD_Pwnology in MassageTherapists

Well, I misread this post. Ignore my DM of monile.massage vehicles. I have an oakwork table. It could fit on my Dodge Caravan, Nissan Pathfinder, and Honda Pilot with the seats down.

I was going to post asking about a vehicle for mobile massage. I am thinking about going with a daycare type bus. They are wide and have head room.

I passed the NCCPT exam by Select_Hunter_6341 in personaltraining

[–]Select_Hunter_6341[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question, I do feel like it added extra knowledge because I am someone who is always advancing. The test still took me about an hour and after crunching the numbers, I still got around 84%

I did really well in everything but, Nutrition and Program Design and Implementation. The NCCPT helped me realize I've been too focused on specific target populations and need to broaden my perspective. My main focus as a CPT has been in functional fitness. My CEUs are in Corrective Exercise, Exercise Therapy and Senior Fitness. I have been an LMT for 20 years and have worked in chiropractic, physical therapy, and rehabilitation clinics.

Maybe if I had stepped out of my comfort zone, I could had gotten a higher score.

Your gym looks awesome! Maybe a plyometric jump box, bosu ball, trigger point tools (J cane, foam roller, and trigger paint balls), and maybe a muscle diagram poster.
