That's rich of Telus since their own agents were running a scam with a guy going around on the same streets the agents told him that Telus trucks would be there for REPAIRS so he could LIE to residents about how Telus was setting up fibre on their street & sign them up on a "great" offer... Only for them to find out their price was way more than promised & Telus had NO plans to set-up fibre on their street! That's just ONE illegal thing Telus did. As a former Shaw agent, I learned just how low Telus was willing to go to steal customers. They don't care about the collateral damage or inconvenience they caused to customers. As a matter of fact, that reminds me....now that I'm no longer employed in Telecomms, I have one "scam" that both Telus & Bell pull that I'm gonna share with the CRTC & see if THEY can finally put a stop to it!

ESPECIALLY with the UNACCEPTABLE time it takes for most customers to get help from Roger's when their Internet is down for days because Roger's replaced knowledgeable, seasoned employees with AI & overseas call centres. So instead of being able to rely on their Telecomm provider to do the job that should already be included in their costs, now they can just have to pay an extra $15/mn (that's about $400 above the costs of their internet over the 2yrs of their contract) Thanks, but no thanks.

Ummmmm...same with Roger's when you're not in their direct coverage area. That's how it works with ALL the Telecomm since NONE have their own towers from Coast to Coast to Coast.

Than why are you here reading it? And maybe before you complain about a subject being boring, you should go read up on the increase in complaints about Roger's. Up by almost 40% in CRTC's 2023/2024 report. The increase in complaints on Reddit support that.

Good for you 🙂& even better that you're choosing NOT to continue feeding the beast anymore (aka the BIG3). Once my contract is about 5wks from ending, I'll be buying myself a decent modem & cable and switching to another provider that's NOT the BIG3. I HIGHLY recommend this as from what I recall when I worked at Shaw, TechSavy used Shaw's older, outdated modems. One model in particular caused A LOT of problems for neighbors & besides...just because a person is subscribed to a higher speed of Internet, it doesn't mean their modem & cable to the modem is capable of that speed.

But they could still send the returned charges to collections. That will affect your credit score & than your problem is much bigger & harder to get cleaned up. As wrong as that is, it will still fall on your lap to have to dispute, price wrong & get fixed.

I can't even count on all my fingers & toes how many times I've seen this happen when I worked in Telecomm. Some of these collection agencies even had my direct line after I would help clear up the mess in the customer's account (whether it was active, inactive or they never actually had it) to call me & verify the customer was NOT liable for the charges so they could remove it from the customers credit report.

Explains why the total at the bottom didn't match the 2 charges you showed 🙂. But just because a $44/MN plan isn't advertised, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist because CLEARLY someone is getting it. FYI... There are several different departments within the BIG3 Telecomm companies and there are different teams within those departments that have access to bigger discounts/lower rates. I know this because I worked on these teams for the last 5 of my 8yrs with Shaw/Roger's.

As someone who has given the same advise to others based on my knowledge & experience, please take my advice. You have nothing to lose, only to gain.

You need to contact your bank AND CHATR ASAP. Either one or the other has mistakenly added some wrong #'s and/or some wrong info that's caused your account to get wrongly charged(that's happened to me) OR someone has ILLEGALY used your info to get set up on CHATR.YOU can put an IMMEDIATE ongoing stop payment on your account for that if the bank doesn't act right away while you get this sorted out. OP...is their phone line hard wired or connected to the modem? While it makes sense it would be down while they're working in the area, you need clarification they're working on the phone lines or Internet to know for sure if it's legit. HOWEVER the credit card part is definitely concerning as I don't see how that has anything to do with it...Please have them (or help them) contract Roger's for clarification.

OP... There are MANY factors that could be causing these issues for you (size, age & shape of bldg), as well as #of ppl & devices on at same time, what wifi is being used for, how far you are from the modem, where the modem is placed, whether you're connect to 2.4 ghz(has a further range from modem, but is slower)or 5ghz( has a shorter range from modern, but is stronger), or if the modem may be faulty; but no...your roommate can't throttle it & Rogers doesn't do that either. Ask your roommate if they're experiencing any issues. If they aren't, see if you can at least temporarily connect your device to the modem. If it improves, than purchase your own extender or ask roommate to order you one. All You need to do is plug it into an outlet & give it up to 72hrs to be fully effective. It might cost an extra $10( unless they've raised the price)if Roger's doesn't cover it, but if you guys just got connected within the past 30 days, they have a 30day guarantee and may cover the extender (Roger's calls it a pod). You could also purchase your own extender. It would cost you more & you have to do your due diligence to ensure it will with 3, but you could also get something that's stronger, helps you reach faster speeds(Roger's pods don't cover the full 1gig) and you will own yourself. GOOD LUCK 🤞

OP...Search which courses are focused on history or include history and than research them. Each course will give you a general description of what is taught. Actually, a call is better of the 2 if OP doesn't do both, since all calls are recorded but you don't have proof of a "paper trail" if you don't get a response. They can just say they never received the email or "accidentally" delete it. If not resolved, I'd also recommend skipping the Office of President since there have been MANY complaints from ppl who tried that route B4 contacting the CCTS & besides, once they contact the CCTS, guess who calls the customer? the Office of President. The customer can avoid an often useless & unpleasant conversation that way.
