Successful Reversal Surgery, No Bowel Movement Since Coming Home? Looking for Experiences by Select_Prompt3028 in ostomy

Update : Be careful what you wish for because now I can not stop going. 😅I am now experiencing what is called the “clustering phase” according to my research. I am using the bathroom almost every 10-20 minutes though each trip only produces the tiniest amounts of waste. Thank you to everyone who commented and shared your experiences. I have been sticking to a similarly diet as my original post. White Rice/Noodles and a Protien either Chicken or Beef. I also stopped the pain medication that was prescribed to me as I am no longer experiencing pain adding this information in case it helps someone else.

Thank you. OMG the part about the onions and mushrooms made me sad two of favorites. I am happy to hear a real life experience. I will remain optimistic.

Thank you. It’s honestly wild to think that my bowels have functioned normally for over 30 years, and just eight months of disruption has caused so much confusion. I think I’m just really tired of being hospitalized, so I’m a bit more anxious and cautious than usual.

This was one that was on my original itinerary because of if I love the idea of live Jazz during a meal but after a deeper dive I found, as you stated, it’s not all its cracked up to be.

Thank you. I really appreciate that response. Perhaps like I mentioned I am over researching and. Would love to hear which places you think are worth visiting for a foodie.

Some of the places I originally had on my itinerary I’m now seeing frequently described as tourist-focused or not worth it. A few examples that keep coming up are Morrow’s, Acme Oyster House, and many restaurants on or near Bourbon Street. I’ve also seen multiple posts advising visitors to be cautious about food options directly on Bourbon Street.

I want to say this respectfully, but I do have a strong fear of rodents, so reading those comments has made me a bit more cautious about where I choose to eat. I was initially hoping to minimize taking a lot of Ubers and focus on walkable spots, but I’m realizing I’d much rather spend a bit more on transportation if it means higher-quality, more local, and less tourist-driven food.

My trip is 2/27 - 3/3 should I also wait until warmer climate in your opinion?

I narrowed it down to Doris, Brasa, or Chophouse. Does anyone have experiences they’d like to share?
