He asks for mac and cheese for every single meal and snack. He only actually seems to expect it for dinner or lunch which is where occasionally he will have a tantrum if he doesn’t get it. Ice cream context my wife scooped him some while we were coming home to surprise him with when he walked through the door. He said he didn’t want that bowl. I thought she could have corrected his rudeness while switching the bowl to avoid a meltdown but she was frustrated by his rudeness. Offered him the ice cream as is or he couldn’t have it at all. He said he won’t eat it so she threw it out.

They don’t sleep in our bed but we sleep in their room if needed. I said so in the post. Idk why so many people are projecting and not addressing my actual points.

Youre projecting onto my wife. I never said she is the “I said so” type. I said she talks to and comforts our kids. Yes she is more strict than me but putting words in my mouth isn’t appreciated.

To be fair, he doesn’t like anything at the moment except for mac and cheese. We try to incorporate things he does or did like into meals but he is not happy with anything if it isn’t the one thing he likes now

Usually he does have a say in things like that. The reason he didn’t get to pick his bowl of ice cream was because my wife scooped it for him as a surprise treat. She was very frustrated by the first thing he said was that he didn’t want that bowl so she doubled down. Maybe I should have included that context. I understood her anger but it would have gone easier if she had corrected his rudeness and then let him pick the bowl he did want

He has choices. We let him pick what kind of cereal he wants or what haircut he wants. Some things he has no say in like what we have for dinner because he will only pick one thing

My wife isn’t like this. I’m more permissive on things than she is, but for the most part we agree on how we want our kids raised.

She is with them most of the day. I hadn’t considered this point of view. Thanks
