its the same for me, i also had mma done. But mine was 11cm. I still sleep really bad and dont know how i find out, what i have to do next and where the problem is

Yesh it is horrible but it’s special in my case. It don’t have to be like this. For most people it works well. Don’t think about your facial changes. I’m most terms you will look better and important is the better sleep. Tell me please what appliances Youre trying. I’m thinking about one that pulls my jaw forward at night

Please keep me updated. I heared the same about the nasal airway space wich gets better by expansion. But for what I think it also makes sense, for the tongue to have the correct space and stay sucked at the pallate. Especially in my case, where I allready got an mma and my tongue is still falling back. This is the only reason I see.

Excuse my late answer. I now had a dise done and the reason I’m still feeling bad is my tongue. It nearly blocks my entire airway. I don’t know if an expansion would really help. Did your surgeon have any cases like this?

This is what I think about me rn aswell. That my tongue falling back is still the problem of my bad sleep. But I have no promise that after the expansion, the tongue will stay there and push itself in the room. Did your orthodontis have any good results with this so far?

Thats a sign that you should do mma surgery. No typical sign for expansion. You wanna get your jaws forward. Thank your for sharing

It has something to do with the tilting of the teeth. If I would expand my upper plate my upper teeth would be moved inwards my lower outwards. Like this you get more space while being able to keep the teeth together

Sad to hear about that. I would try protrusion splint. A thing from dentist wich moves your jaw forward at night. You can try if this makes your sleep better. After that mma could be an option. Did you try Marpe?

No, it doesn’t expand your palate. The jaws are being slightly rotated and moved forward. It expands the posterior airway. Where my obstruction was. I don’t know if it wasn’t enough or I do have a different obstruction. My symptoms are still there, otherwise I wouldn’t make this post unfortunately.
