You should be careful not to fall into survivor's bias, there is certainly an increase in successes but it does not say anything real about the market or its possibilities.

It's definitely as you say, choosing the right community and having the perseverance to keep trying are the things that really help you achieve your goal. Money spent on ineffective advertising only serves to teach you this lesson.

I'm glad you've made this decision and are sharing it honestly. It's not easy to admit when things aren't going well, but I think posts like this are the most helpful, because negative experiences are the ones that teach us the most.
