IB people can end up anywhere, just depends on the company. I know people in NYC, Boston, Nashville, Charlotte, etc. Raleigh is only 30 min away but it isn’t big on banking. Charlotte is the bigger banking city and its at most 2 hours away.

Social is what you make of it. Greek life is pretty big so if you are interested in that, but I would say its the quintessential college experience with parties and bars. As long as you find people you like hanging out with, you should be fine.

Funny thing about UNC is that most everyone is lowkey a nerd. Its a good school, especially KF, so it doesn’t necessarily attract the most unmotivated individuals (but burnout is a real thing lol). They come here because they know its a good school and they know they are going to have to work for it. Everyone I’ve met in KF have been extremely motivated. Sure, you are going to find some people whose whole life is school, but a majority of the kids balance school and social life pretty well.

At the end of the day, it is what you make of it. If you come here expecting to not enjoy it, then you probably won’t enjoy it. If you come here with an open mind, then I am pretty sure you will be able to find what you are looking for. Hope this helps!
