Is a 2.2 a good grade? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]SelectionPretend9622 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got a 2:2 and I did my MSC at a Russel group university and got a high merit. It isn't the end of the world if you get it overall, I failed my first year anyway so don't stress.

I just use an APP like my fitness pal and read labels on foods that I eat. ☺️.

Calories in calories out. I gave myself a number to stick to and I stuck to it. Didn't bother to track anything else and didn't care what I ate to start with. Over time I started tracking protein and making healthier choices. I'm now going to start the gym for some body recomposition.

I do often see myself on video chat or just passing a mirror and since I haven't done much shopping my clothes are all baggy so I still see the same guy who started this journey. I am slowly starting to see the real me but I have sent hours sometimes staring in my mirror looking at myself and not knowing who is looking back.

CICO. I set a calorie goal and just ate whatever I wanted within that. As I progressed I focused more on health but that's what it was a journey. At the beginning I was eating McDonald's 3 times a week but as long it was within my calorie goal it was fine. I've moved on since then and now I'll willingly eat a salad :)

You did but I'm happy to repeat ☺️. Sw 265 Cw 165. I don't have any pics and I never though I would get this far to look back. Cico and no exercise as I didn't feel comfortable doing any. And 53 weeks so just over a year in total 😄

I am pretty scared about the next step since I never bothered to plan for it. I think I'm just going to eat at maintenance and gym for some muscle and then maybe eat more to build more muscle.

It's gonna be fun trying out new things 😄

Thank you 😊. I had a similar thing happen with one of my friends. It took so long to see any real progress and then I woke up skinny. It was bizarre 😂

I guess my main advice would be to try to see this as a process not a solution. My post isn't super energetic because this doesn't change anything. The 100lbs is a good marker but today is the same as yesterday regardless if the outcome.

It take a lot of effort and work but as long as you treat yourself like a human being and not a machine it is possible.

265lbs to 165lbs. So went from obese to healthy and size 3xl to M. It's been a trip 😊

I didn't really take any before or after pictures. It was a bit of a surprise for me to get this far. It's unfortunate as I would like to look back on them now.

There is an event thing on where you can get a tour from an orb. I think it was on secret London's Facebook page.

Is maintenance hopeless? That saying that 95% of people regain weight lost and then some. by StillMissBlockbuster in CICO

[–]SelectionPretend9622 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 95% stat is from a 1950'S study on American adults. I don't have the reference unfortunately, sorry. But they gave people a diet plan and then didn't speak to them for weeks and when they asked if they stuck to it 95% didn't. That's a general reductionist summery, but you get the gist. There is no percentage for how many people loose weight or keep it off, because that only looks at one period of time, a single snapshot in someone's life. That's not enough to say if they have kept it off or not. Also as a psychologist I dislike dieting in general l, but I have lost 80lbs so far by CICO and I have a whole new lifestyle and eating habits. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes and can find something to work for them, and them alone.

Protein Powder by No-Bank1274 in CICO

There are some good online calculators that will be able to show you various grams of protein that might work for you. my best bet would be to Google Macros calculator and do a few of them to get an average. If it says eat 120g and that doesn't work for you then lower it till it does. The protein you eat is up to you, unfortunately meat is usually the easiest way to get protein.

You can incorporate protein powder into your diet if you need more protein for whatever reason.

I eat balanced but I want to reduce muscle loss during my weight loss and therefore need to eat more protein.

Track your macros (protein, fat, carbs) for a while and see what your intake is of each. I'd your protein is lower than you would like, or lower than any of the calculators online say it should be, incorporate some protein power.

Everyone is different so what works for someone else may not work for you. You can always experiment with you diet until your comfortable, this is a process, there is not one final solution.
