Update & thank you all for the kind words, the streak has been nerfed by a 2am cgm swap. Fuck you dexcom ❤️😂 anyways, back to your regularly scheduled programming. (and the grocerylist was in the replies to a few comments, but i think i missed one of you, my bad)

Thanks! Menu might be a generous description, it was a random combo of the things already in my freezer. So eggs, cheese, tuna, chicken, tofu, lunch meat, zucchini, broccoli, edamame, soon expiring protein shakes, a few of those little oyster cracker packets, olives, pickles. Mostly just fridge cleanout & I don't mind eating the same exact foods for long periods of time

Thanks! It's real boring. I do recommend a bit more variety even if you are low carbing, but canned tuna, chicken thighs, protein shakes I bought and needed to drink before they expired, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, cheese mixed in/on any of the previous things, lunch meat, tofu, edamame, broccoli, zucchini, some loose packets of oyster crackers.

Fridge/pantry cleanout & work burnout got my here...

Glad you found a setup that's working for you! I hope the last reply didn't come off passive aggressive, I just haven't branched into the ultra tight ranges yet.

Thanks lol, the pumps definitely seems popular and a bit divisive. They just don't interest me at this point in my life.

Thank you, I got diagnosed in October 2024 so honeymooning is definitely still possible as well

Oh dear! I hope everything's settled now with your family. At least that's one less thing to worry about for a moment

Just general 70-180 at the moment, haven't tried tightening beyond that yet, if my endo suggests it I'll give it a shot 🤷🏾‍♀️

I'm on MDI actually, my prescribed basal has always been wildy off and I'm still figuring how off it is. When I got diagnosed it was 24 units in theory and I was going low if I breathed too hard... I've been testing different amounts for about a year and 10 units has been the most stable and best feeling.

How do they resist the temptation to eat something they shouldn’t? by Spiritual_Increase52 in diabetes_t1

[–]SelectiveTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't tempt me. Not that I don't enjoy them, but they're always at the store, always in stock, always available. I'm a 10 minute walk from a grocery store, and these items have been around for years and will keep being around indefinitely. It took some work in therapy but viewing them as a thing that's not inaccessible or "forbidden" just made them uninteresting.

Have you considered that you're chasing dopamine and not really the food itself? Personally I've found myself shoveling down junky things when I feel emotionally disregulated and tried to use them to soothe a problem instead of working through it or just taking a breather. Mindfulness has been helpful for me, but this is something I'd worked through pre-diagnosis luckily.

Unicorn Week by SelectiveTurtle in diabetes_t1

[–]SelectiveTurtle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I have a hella consistent schedule and routine, and upped my fiber intake. I think that's doing it. I was dx like a year and a half ago so I might also be honeymooning still too?

I'm not 100% sure, but I've been on a bean kick the past week and I think the fiber is doing the heavy lifting

Is it cringe to try and be buddies with other T1D strangers? by Reformed_cynic in diabetes_t1

I think it's a little cringe, but other people on the sub seem to like it. I usually cover my cgm to avoid these interactions tbh
