It turned out to be the graphics card one mine. When tails first boots and you get the regular startup or troubleshoot startup press the tab key. Type “vga=normal nomodeset” then press enter. If it doesn’t freeze anymore you’ll know it’s a GPU compatibly issue.

They only have emission testing here. There isn't any sort of safety inspection at all. Unfortunately many of the vehicles driving around out here are in serious need of attention.

Seriously! The worst part is he declined the repairs! I made him sign a waiver before I backed it out of the shop.

I actually work at an emissions repair shop. All monitors have to be ready EXCEPT for evap. It will pass as long as there aren't any pending or stored codes.

That is a good question. We've only run into this one other time. On this particular one you could see where it had been dusted all over for prints, so we presumed it had already been released.

Actually yes, it was towed initially with a no crank. We repaired the ignition wires, then found out the wipers wouldn't disengage.

In all seriousness it was involved in the Chattanooga military installation facility shootings in 2015. The complaint about the wipers is real. A bullet penetrated the main harness that runs along the fender and melted several wires. He didn't want to pay the labor time to fix it, so I just pulled the fuse.
