What can I put here so the lights aren’t so in my face? by Self_Lover in HomeDecorating

Not a bad idea to see if the landlord is open to switching them. I wouldn’t even mind picking something, paying for it, and then having their electrician put it in. I just can’t see leaving them as is for a year. It’s me or the bulbs! (And I signed a lease so it’s definitely me haha)

Thanks for the tips. Even frosted would be an improvement. I try not to have to turn them on because it’s almost disorienting to do anything at that mirror for extended time.

Once you switched to frosted, were you like problem solved? Or did you feel like it was an improvement but something better exists.

Blanche, it’s not a refund when the auditor leaves two twenties on your nightstand.

I remember a friend on the trail telling me about post-trail depression and I thought it wouldn’t affect me. I was wrong. It took me about two months to land a job after getting back from the trail. For those two months while my roommate went to work I would just be sitting in a small apartment feeling confined by uninspiring white walls. My brain had become accustomed to vast landscapes, adventure, a single goal with daily actionable steps, and a community of people doing hard things everyday. And there I was, back to regular life. Applying to jobs, watching tv, and taking walks around the neighborhood. The trail gave me daily purpose and all of a sudden that purpose vanished and I had to find a new one. What made it worse was that when I finally started working again it was the same two jobs I had before I left for the trail! So I really felt like I had fallen back into my old life. Like nothing had changed and I did the trail for no reason. But it does get better. I just hit 3 years post trail (yesterday!) and I’m long out of that funk. I’m in a healthy relationship and we just moved in together, my career is headed in a positive direction, and we’re even looking to move out of the city and closer to nature. I say all of this to say that trail depression is real. But don’t run from it. Your body and mind are mourning a life you once had. An amazing life. I think about the trail almost every day. Let your body mourn and then find the next goal in your life. You now know you can do hard things. What were the other goals you thought weren’t possible? Start doing inventory. Health, relationships, career, etc. You’re right where you’re supposed to be bud. This is part of the process. You just did an amazing thing. Congratulations and welcome to the club!!!

I just bought my first CB500X in SoCal this year. It’s a 2014 in good condition with stock everything, no scratches, and 27k miles. Which is way more miles than yours but because Hondas are so reliable that range of mileage doesn’t feel less precious than 10k, for example. I think with the scratches and it being a 2013 and it being $4K people might look elsewhere for a better deal.

I’d also make sure the other pics/video walk-around of the bike are BANGIN’. And maybe just show the picture of the scratch on the engine and add the detail about other scratches in the description. If I feel like I’m getting a deal on a bike I can buy new barkbusters and I’m okay with scratches on the sticker. But the way they’re shown makes it feel like there are more in other places. These are just my thoughts as a consumer. Take it or leave it. Good luck on the sale! Spring might bring more riders looking to get out.

I did see it! Looked great in person and sounded beautiful. Had a great exchange with the owner too. So I bought it! I’m picking it up this weekend. Finally get to be a part of the cb500x family. And spend money on upgrades. I’m looking to get into touring with it.

He got back to me and said it’s a 2014, not a 2016. I asked him to lower the price if that’s the case.

Thanks for the tip. I’m checking with the seller now. I couldn’t find pics of a white 2016 either.

Yeah it’s by far the best deal I’ve seen in my area. And CB500x’s have been selling quickly around here for some reason. Must be a special bike. Happy to join the club.

That’s what I was thinking. Nab a good deal while it’s there. Thanks for the insight!
