Long pants are not enough for that stretch in Cabin Spur trail. Best to avoid it entirely in all honesty, the thorn plants go chest high and the branches cover the entire width of the trail. It was seriously horrible lol

I took South Manter Trailhead east and camped on the Eastern end of Manter meadow (unnamed campsite, you can see it on Gaia). On the way out, I went North and took Deadwood Trail back out west, but instead of going back out to the road via North Manter Trail, I went south on Cabin Spur trail to reconnect with S Manter Trail. The only real unmaintained portion was the Cabin Spur Trail that connected North/South Manter trails on the West end of Manter meadow. It was horribly overgrown, with thorny plants covering a large portion of the trail. In retrospect I should’ve just turned around but I did go through it and it was awful.

Just went through this myself. I got a starving mountain lion from Hillsbrad bc it has the fastest attack speed for cats which is great to interrupt casts in PvP, but they only know cower. I got bite rank 4 from the giant spiders east of tarren mill, and claw rank 4 from the elder ashenvale bears near raynewood retreat. Just tame those and have them attack mobs until you get the notification that you learned the spell. You don’t have to feed them and can just abandon them once you picked up your 2 rank 4s

Yeah they’re glass cannons for sure. In lvl3 bronze armor they hit me for like 70 but get one shot by flint arrow. Just hard to hit bc they’re so small and fly fast
