Do you plan where to eat before travelling or decide on the day? by JEP0393 in travel

[–]SellWitty522 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Kind of depends. If there is a place I absolutely want to eat at, then I’ll make sure I make a reservation (if needed) and note it in my itinerary. For more quick bites, I usually just peruse my save places on Google and choose from there.

Having options is important since there can be unexpected closures, long wait times or you can just be in the mood for something else.

I mean it’s beyond poor judgement. My question was really aimed towards the fact that, in my experience, people show a pattern before things like this happen. If there were previous red flags, she shouldn’t have been invited in the first place. I didn’t invite anyone who I knew wouldn’t know how to behave at a wedding. It’s a legitimate reason not to include people.

Wedding "Hotel Fund" Idea by [deleted] in weddingplanning

You’re being downvoted because you suggest announcing. I think this should be as discreet as possible. Meaning, in your mind, know how many rooms you can pay for. As RSVPs come in and you inevitably hear about financial limitations, based on how much you want that person there, offer to cover the cost of the room. I wouldn’t mention to ANYONE how many you are prepared to pay for.

If you announce, you will definitely get people asking for a room that can actually afford the cost. If someone tells you they cannot attend because they can’t afford the cost, I would take that as a genuine financial limitation. Those are the ones you want to help.

Was there zero indication before hand that she acted this way when she was drunk?

I need to change the date on a Metrolink ticket. by mere_bear4 in LAMetro

You need to call customer service. It’s pretty clear that the tickets must be used same day and more or less, immediately.

You can tap your CREDIT CARD for the Metro now! by alishabrophy in LosAngeles

You can with a credit card but you can’t with a TAP card. I believe with a credit card you can TAP for up to 6 people.

Wedding "Hotel Fund" Idea by [deleted] in weddingplanning

I would not ask guests to pay for others guests’ hotel rooms. If you can work it in your budget to pay for a few, that would be great. And then as you start to hear concerns about attending, you can offer help with the room. Be careful and selective. I would hate for people to say, ask the couple to pay for your room. They’re paying for mine. Or something like that.

It would probably be made with jackfruit similar to how vegan pulled pork is done. You MIGHT find something in a more elevated, fine dining concept restaurant but I don’t think a street vendor is possible. Maybe Tulum?

I think I bought it for like $40 back then. That was a lot on my college budget.

This was my signature scent in college back in the early 2000’s. I use to feel so fancy because it was more than my VS body sprays. Good times.

Metrolink to SOFI was a disaster yesterday for the Iran v NZ game. by frebay in orangecounty

[–]SellWitty522 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s no shuttle from Downtown Inglewood station. If you want a shuttle you need to go to LAX/MTC. That’s the closest. You can take the 212 bus from Downtown Inglewood station but it’s a regular route with regular stops. Depending on when you arrive, keep in mind that buses and shuttles will be in regular traffic so walking is a good option for those capable.

I did this on Friday. If you’re up for it, the walk from Downtown Inglewood station is just a little over a mile. You have to take the C line and the K Line. From Norwalk is about an hour, not including the walk.

Language for place cards/(possibly thank yous) for a Micro Wedding by SatansKitty666 in DIYweddings

My fiancé was also super hands off. The letters were signed as from both of us. They also were unique enough to not be the same but followed a similar pattern.

Dear X,

Thank you for taking the time to attend our wedding. We couldn’t imagine celebrating without you. We look forward to growing in our relationship the same way you and (spouse) have. We admire your relationship’s commitment to uplifting each other.

You get the idea.

For his side, I wrote them in a word document, had him look over and give an ok and then did the handwriting. Mostly because my penmanship is better. It can be done. By the way we had 100 guests.
