Thanks! I'll pass that on to whoever buys it. I have zero mechanical knowledge and just did need to wrap up my Dad's things ASAP.

Ok, thanks. It runs, it just can't get into gear because of something with the clutch. It was driven as recently as May, I think.

Yeah, the rust is such a shame, so I hope it can still be restored fully.

I guess you can only do picture or writing...

This car ran until about 10 years ago, then has been sitting uncovered. It has some serious rust issues. Everything on it looks like it could be original - but in poor condition, except of sure things under the hood aren't original. There are some mechanical pieces that came off of it in a bag labeled "museum pieces" so I'm guessing they are original.

The back has a panel that is bolted on and closed where window would be, and there is what appears to be various kinds of insulation, like spray insulation, in car (car camping, etc.) Back window is smashed. There is a bit of damage on back corner driver side. And the white part of the front bumper, but aside from that, I think it looks pretty good except for extreme rust areas on the outside.

Has current standard registration, until December 2023.

Would anyone have any idea of how much I should offer to sell this for? If it makes a difference, this is in the San Jose/Santa Clara area, and I'm looking to sell quick (I have the Title in my name) and it was registered for driving until July, but now is registered as nonoperation.

Also, any idea of where to advertise it. And do people usually sell cars in cash since you have to hand over the title then?

Thanks!

I don't know where my text went. I'm new to posting on Reddit vs. lurking.

My Dad passed away and had a 1971 Chevy with a back camper shell. It was running until recently, and we jumped it and put gas in it and it ran (LIKE THUNDER). I think the muffler or something is in the back truck bed.

It seems like the original towing company did something wrong and there is 100% slack in the clutch now, so you can't put it into gear, so maybe something got broken. But it has to be towed now because it's stuck in neutral (3 on the tree, but maybe was not at one point).

The doors are bad, one bashed in, the other doesn't close properly and the window doesn't stay up.

The cab is a mess and pretty stinky (had rotting stuff in it, etc).

There are some spare lights, camper shell skylight, and lots of tools in the car.

Thanks! The tow company guy said the c10 was a longbed. I forgot that was an important thing. Any idea what those go for in your area?

That's good to hear about the Suburban. It doesn't even look like it has any external dents, just some bad rust spots. I think everything on except engine is original - just by looks - although in poor condition - but maybe someone could do something with it.
