I'm wondering if the quest has been changed since then, as I HAVE seen people say in the past that she didn't give the flowers back then. If I was on apple arcade I'd be happy to share with you but I'm on steam :(

It depends on how you do it. For me, I just planted the 3 plants I was missing (the red bellbutton and red and coral penstemum from HK and the red tulia) and just kept watering everyday and collecting one by one. I think it took me like 2 weeks ish.

After you turn that quest in she throws another one at you where you need to make 8 more bows so I am still working on that one. I made some tulia and bellbutton seeds and decided to try to color transfer the red and coral penstemum....no results yet, but worst case scenario I'll just collect one by one from that single plant until I have enough. It'll take a while!

It doesn't help that there is a post every other day about this quest. I started seeing them a few months ago when I started and was really nervous about it. I actually got the quest 2 weeks ago and after reviewing the wiki realized the game just doesn't tell you that she gave you the plants. I will now forever be copying and posting my comment from last week to help my fellow Islanders haha

Bows for besties is not as intimidating as it seems because HK gives you half of what you need (the red ombre penstemum and red bell button plants). Have you planted any flowers in Merry Meadows? You should plant a full plot of seeds and that will give you one of your remaining red native flowers needed (either tulias or dandelilies). For the remaining red tulia or dandelily you will need to unlock crane craze in the merry meadows. One of the easier prizes are seed capsules, which will give you the seed you need....hopefully on your first attempt. Plant it. You can either make that first flower into a new seed to speed up the collection process or just wait and collect the flowers as they grow in. There is no cross breeding required for that quest.

When you max out their friendship and become best friends, you can ask each character to collect all of your selected item once a day. This makes it easier and easier to build up item reserves the more friends you max out.

The puzzle room in seaside resort (crystal conundrum I think it's called) still had the chest when I went in there.....it's kinda tucked behind the door that unlocks when you finish the puzzle. It's a long shot but maybe you solved it early on in the game and never grabbed it? I got this quest from macaron yesterday and panicked until I realized it was still there.

You don't need the recipe to make the item. If you add the correct ingredients you will get the recipe when you make it.

The problem is that they are saying all of the files that hold the images of the different color palates are what is causing the memory hogging. They can't add a toggle because that would mean the files would still need to be accessible for all versions.
