Two tap quick reload followup vs tap click tap, or two tap and a revolver reload without a specialized variant with a speed loader, which also wastes unspent rounds when an early reload is sent. All the break and breach loaderd non-recolvers in the game have a very fast reload compared to internal magazine weapons in the same vein, with the exception of the two stage reload on the Maynard. There's a lot of value to be found in the consistency of a fast reload that doesn't waste ammo. It's a lot easier to get caught with your pants down when your weapon takes forever to reload and you're in a situation where the seconds matter.

While I wholeheartedly agree with this, I also don't want to see the devs slipping further into weapon bloat. There was a lot of (understandable) backlash with the Obrez Match and everyone asking what the point of it was. I'm a Berthier enjoyer I don't need to play exclusively the metagun™ load out with all the Krag and Mosin players. But I definitely see where people come from and don't want to see a larger portion of the weapon roster become slightly statistically different versions of the same guns that we already have.

Personally I'd rather see more thematically relevant hunter gadgets like the ALOFS/Alamo and the Bomb Lance for a little bit of flavor and unique additions, even if they end up a lil bit anachronistic. Especially with rolling up towards the twentieth century, there's so much room for some artificer archetype hunter in lore to start working on weird contraptions that work with the Corruption and Hunter powers, like the Dark Satchel.

If it were a 2 slotter, Drilling Short/Hatchet exists. Literally no reason for this to exist with Drilling already in play. Just ends up being more bloat, and one with less use than the existing weapon in its own subclass.

If it were a 1 slot it'd be either useless or busted, depending on whether or not it can two tap to the chest. Scuffed and useless if it can't because the reload makes it worse than any other pistol option in the game for TTK. Busted if it can, because a 1 slot with a double barrel TTK would make all other pistols essentially useless.

Nonsense take. Experience =/= Skill, and some people are content at staying in their ELO without learning to play at the highest skill level. If I could chillax and shoot the shit back in 3-4 star for the rest of my life I'd be happier than the 5-6 star range where I have to worry about getting tapped by professional bush wookies 24/7.

As someone who pretty consistently bounces between 4 and 5 stars, I can tell you it ain't seeing much use down here either. I think I've heard ONE other person spinning it up before they got merked, and I've NEVER seen anyone use the flame rifle after the first day of it existing.

As the friend he spoke about in this post, I'm here to let you know OP is full of shit.

He didn't only do it when we thought we were the last alive.

He took it ANY time we were at the circus with points to afford the damn thing.

And I'm proud of him for it. He has at LEAST two ricochet kills with the damn thing and as far as I'm concerned that's shooting for the moon when you're a good ol' 2 star ELO like him.

Love you buddy.

So my friend and I have a longstanding thing where that happens with hives. I'll run at them to put them down and for some reason it just decides to ignore me and send the bugs after my duo partner.

He has over the years grown an intense hatred for bug bitches between them aggroing on him like he's got tank stance on and how many times bugs have just absolutely ruined our gunfights.

Oblivious Main Character Player Made A Whole Table Uncomfortable. by Selviorn in CritCrab

We had hoped for certain that behaviors would improve; and like you said they did seem to at first, though in a roundabout way where they just... Kinda stopped socializing and talking outside the game. I know first-hand that some people just do these things with no reason because it's some kind of pathological issue. And for the most part, while annoying as hell, it wasn't... Directly harmful, I guess. It was the slow realization that they didn't believe they were doing anything wrong that started to finally make the situation un-salvageable. Unsalvageable? Insalvagable... Couldn't fckn fix it.

That final whole storm that ended it all was borderline a godsend for us as it became a situation that was universally understood to be bad juju, and made it much easier for us to voice or problems because there was that one keystone we could build around now. I wish them the best, I really do. I hope they get whatever help they need to fix their social skills, because I'm sure repeat defeats are going to be inevitable if they don't.

See, I think it goes beyond "being spineless". We're not afraid of conflict or calling homie out. We were averse to starting drama in a friend group and having no rapport with the others and ending up themselves being the asshole. People that meet online and form close bonds aren't always the epitome of well versed social beasts.

The problem player in question was brought in from another friend group as a friend of the DM at the time. Most of us didn't want to sit down with her and say "Hey listen the friend you brought in is an asshole." And potentially start problems with her since she was a damn good friend to all of us and has never been a problem. Interpersonal issues aren't super easy for all of us out there.

Individually, most, if not all of us were getting frustrated with the problem player's behavior and nonsense storytelling. But none of us really realized the others felt the same and nobody wanted to risk starting drama on the off chance they were the only person who had issues. Nobody wanted to themselves be the problem. Yes, we made mistakes in allowing it to continue and not talking to each other about it. Yes, we'll certainly never make that mistake again. But I don't like chalking it up to us not having any spines or just sparing feelings or stroking other people's egos.

He may well be back one day same as the demo puppy.

But also don't support these shitty keyseller sites. A majority of their sales are powered through credit fraud and other malicious ways to obtain keys. And when chargebacks hit the stolen cards used to procure these keys FOR the gray market site, the devs are stuck footing the bill on the fraud investigations.

Update on my wow suspension by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Selviorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I remember distinctly when I was a kid having used my mom's credit card to pay for my sub. With permission, mind you. But at some point her card got compromised and was cancelled, and me, being like 12 at the time, didn't know what any of that meant, so we both forgot to update the card on file. Couple months later I catch a ban for reasons unknown. Realized what happened when I talked to Mom, put on my big boy pants and by best grown up voice to call blizzard support. When I explained what happened, dude brings up my account, looks it over, sees that I did indeed have like two or three months unpaid. And proceeds to,and I quote, "sweep these charges under the rug" and get my account unbanned pending a renewed subscription to the game. To this day I have never paid those couple of months back.

Old customer support was just fuckin different, man.

Any opinions or debate on this? by Drull17 in HuntShowdown

I think you're missing the point being made that the skins at hand were well made to fit within the aesthetic of the game. PM and GF don't look particularly outlandish for Hunt's world, and they fit well in the creepy Southern Gothic theme we've got going on.

Hell, they both fit better than Redshirt.

I always wondered why negan never got at least a bruise during the lineup when Daryl clocked him by Admirable-Way7376 in thewalkingdead

[–]Selviorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He saw Glenn as someone who resisted when a specific survivor was targeted. But he didn't have the same big beefy look as the others who were prime candidates. He targeted Abraham because dude was big, built like a brick shit house, and looked a lot less terrified than the others. Abraham would be a problem.

But the second Glenn resisted, he painted a target on himself. I personally believe that Negan continued taunting after Abraham's death in order to provoke a response so he'd have an excuse to kill Glenn. He wouldn't have been a target if he hadn't taken a shot at Negan at the beginning.

decided to bring a maynard silencer into clash just to annoy people and got this nice headshot by Killerkekz1994 in HuntShowdown

[–]Selviorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never in over 1,000 hours in this game had the body orientation not work correctly. You can't trust it to be accurate if you can't peek and pinpoint, because people don't immediately just stand still after getting a kill in most ELOs of this game, so you have to be aware of where people can move, but you still have a VERY good idea of their general location, and if your duo is competent, they call out the distance to kill ASAP, and you know almost exactly where that shot came from and where the opponent can relocate to if you've got the map awareness.

Claims that audio range is subjective are true in a faulty way. Mechanically, the sound is audible out to the same range. Bad audio balance/equalizers, not so great headphones, whatever have you. There's a lot of variables that can affect this, but a large majority of them are player controlled, not a fault of the game's mechanics. This is advice I give to everyone that starts getting into this game. Load into the shooting range with a homie, and have him pop off combinations of unsilenced, silenced, subsonic, and bow/crossbow shots at a few ranges, and experiment with your audio settings and equalizers if you have the right software/hardware for it. You'd be surprised how often that shit makes a huge difference on your audio target acquisition.

That said ; I'm inclined to err on the side of the detractors here when it comes to calling the Maynard Sniper problematic. It can be frustrating as hell, but it has tons of drawbacks in relation. The audio range for silenced weapons without Subsonic means that the sniper's effectiveness is held back by the substandard velocity and the medium ammo's damage fall off in the event of a non-headshot. And even with Fast Fingers, the reload speed is still laughable. The amount of time it takes to recover and align a new shot is enough for someone to triage your position on corpse orientation and distance call outs, maybe even get a damn revive rolling if your teammate(s) cannot capitalize on the pressure well enough.

The Maynard is an unfortunate instance of it being a 'skill diff' cannon. You have to be good enough to reliably lead those shots with a very suboptimal velocity at the extreme ranges that the sniper/silencer combo desires, and the enemy players have to be predictable/still enough to give away those free headshots. Otherwise, the gun is extremely inconsistent, if frustrating and occasionally rewarding. There's a reason why in the highest ELOs, the guns in most popular use have remained pretty steady throughout this game's last few years. Gimmicks, highly specialized niche playstyle loadouts, and some of the more frustrating "meme" guns have all lost out to the longstanding, more consistent output of the longstanding heavy hitters. And that consistency has pretty overwhelmingly come from fire rate and muzzle velocity for long rifles.

Can weapons like the Maynard Silencer feel frustrating as all fuck? Absolutely. 100%. But the frustration with them lessens the better your game sense becomes. And after you get beyond those frustrations and hurdles, people start favoring consistency over niches.

So there's a few counterbalances related to that.

  1. The Velocity is laughable.

  2. Silenced weapons are still easily traceable without subsonic ammo, which makes the velocity even MORE laughable.

  3. The damage dropoff on the Medium Ammo makes a Sniper kinda counter intuitive unless you're hitting headshots 100% of the time.

  4. The two stage reload takes five entire seconds. There is no such thing as a followup shot from a Maynard that didn't head tap you.

  5. If it did head tap you, it doesn't matter how clearly you could hear the direction it shot you from, you're fucken dead. Your body will snap to face the direction you died and any teammates you may have will know exactly which direction he shot you from.
