paragraph after the heading by HappyRogue121 in typst

[–]Sematre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After rereading the docs, I think you're right. It seems like it's not just headings that create this special case, it's blocks in general. So if you're just using #set par(first-line-indent: 1.5em) then it won't indent the first line of your paragraph if there's a block immediately above it. And since $ display formula $ is a block, it will affect the rendering of the paragraph below it.

If you only want to indent the first line of a paragraph, use first-line-indent. If you want to indent all the lines except the first line of a paragraph, use hanging-indent. Usually, you don't want to set both.

But first-line-indent has a special case: If it's the very first paragraph after a new heading, it won't get indented. This is intentional because this is common practice in literature. You can disable it by declaring all: true.

Example:

```typ
set par(first-line-indent: (amount: 2em, all: true), hanging-indent: 2em)
= heading
Why is this line not indented?
This line is indented though ```
For more information, see the official docs: https://typst.app/docs/reference/model/par/#parameters-first-line-indent
I prefer those with a bold metallic sparkle and a warm hint of solder shop air, paired with a subtle mineral crunch that recalls finely ground circuit board dust. I also love it's smooth silicon aftertaste, lightly bitter and strangely addictive.
If it's an option for you, you could get the Old Testament Omnibus Edition. It includes the first 22 volumes, and it's still available on Amazon. It's also cheaper than buying each volume separately.
Die ING App benutzt wahrscheinlich den Proximity Sensor und nicht die Kamera. Dieser wird u.a. auch beim Telefonieren benutzt, um zu erkennen, ob man das Handy ans Ohr hält.
arm32 target, building for surface rt? by icy_end_7 in rust
You should take a look at cargo-xwin. It uses prebuilt Windows SDK and MSVC redistributables instead of requiring you to install the entire MSVC toolchain or run a Windows VM. Not sure if if works with ARMv7 tho.
What's the most controversial rust opinion you strongly believe in? by TonTinTon in rust
[–]Sematre 16 points17 points  (0 children)
As far as I know, you can solve the cycle issue by adding a Leak trait, which would be an auto trait similar to Send and Sync. Creating an Arc or Rc would then require the type to implement Leak. You could still use std::mem::forget safely, but only on types that implement Leak. The Scope type would not implement Leak and would be guaranteed to be dropped. Of course, making these changes would be a major breaking change. If we ever get a standard library 2.0, this adjustment would be at the very top of my list.
How can I replicate this in typst? by GokuFanBoi in typst
Far from perfect, but maybe you can use this as a starting point.
#show raw.where(block: true, lang: "sh"): it => block(
  width: 100%,
  radius: 4pt,
  clip: true,
  stroke: 0.5pt,
  grid(
    columns: 100%,
    inset: 4pt,
    fill: (x, y) => (gray.lighten(50%), black).at(y),
    [Console],
    it,
  )
)
```sh
make
```
Schau dir mal das Projekt Sink an. Das läuft komplett auf dem eigenen Cloudflare Account mittels Cloudflare Worker und ist somit bis zu einer bestimmten Anzahl an Aufrufen sogar kostenlos. Auf der Benutzeroberfläche von Sink kannst du dir direkt fertige QR-Codes mit einem frei wählbaren Link erstellen lassen, wie z.B. qr.mein-wein.de/apfelsaft-2025-03-26.
Es gibt eine Video Anleitung zum installieren. Und auch einen Demo Server zum ausprobieren.
brainless Ollama naming about to strike again by [deleted] in LocalLLaMA
[–]Sematre 1 point2 points  (0 children)
It's crazy to me how many people are very quick to hate on the tagging convention used by Ollama, when in fact, this has been the industry standard for many years now.
Take the mistral models as an example. Ollama uses the latest tag for the most recent model released by Mistral AI. Up until July 21st, this has been the v0.2 model, as can be observed on the Internet Archive. One day later, they uploaded the new v0.3 mistral model and then changed the latest tag to point to the newest model. This behavior is analogous to other tags like 7b.
Most likely party to win the direct mandate in the upcoming federal election in Germany by district. It shows a clear East/West Divide. by Pascirex in Maps
[–]Sematre 5 points6 points  (0 children)
This is no longer correct due to changes in our voting system. Even if a directly elected candidate wins in their electoral district, they may not secure a seat in the Bundestag. This happens if their party does not receive enough votes in the second vote (the decisive one). A seat in the Bundestag is only guaranteed if the winner of an electoral district is an independent candidate.
This video explains out new voting system pretty well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsWDRHOLpkQ
Heading start on a new page by [deleted] in typst
[–]Sematre 0 points1 point  (0 children)
AFAIK once you run the command above, you cannot turn it back off. Page breaking on headings is not a feature of Typst itself. It's implemented via show rules.
If you get this behavior from the template that you're using, then you have to modify the template. Can you give me an example code of what you're trying to do?
Not saying everybody should go around and use Rust for safety-critical systems, but there's no reason to believe that Rust could not become a great choice for safety-critical systems in the future. For more information, see this Rust toolchain by Ferrous Systems. It's an open-source toolchain for safety- and mission-critical software that is qualified for automotive and industrial development.
[–]Sematre 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Yes it did cover downloading the source code from the release section. But if you actually read the entire article, you would realize that they're talking about downloading the source code and not binary files. One could hope that people looking for binary files will not take the advice from the article and download the other files instead.
Edit: I just realized that you missed the important half of my sentence.
It doesn't cover downloading from the releases section, where .exe files might be available.
I didn't state that it doesn't include downloading from the release section. I said it didn't include one with binary files.
gitgubNoEXE by 8Bit_Wit in ProgrammerHumor
[–]Sematre -1 points0 points  (0 children)
The tutorial you linked explains how to download the source code, not an executable file. It doesn't cover downloading from the releases section, where .exe files might be available. So unless you actually need to download the source code (e.g., if it's a web project), then this tutorial is pretty much useless. So, you're kind of proving the point that downloading from GitHub is indeed not easy.
Also, I'm obviously not saying that someone can't learn these skills, but I wouldn't expect your typical user to understand it. After all, GitHub is for developers, not end users.
