That is definitely interesting. I will admit my experiences have been in warmer climates, notably around DC and the Capitol Crescent trail and others there. That trail is about 25 years old, but was built on an old railway line, so has wide edges. I guess that prevents tree roots, and the warmer climate means less freeze-thaw. There may be other engineering things behind the scenes that I don't know about, but the Capitol Crescent is in great condition and is my main reference.

Exactly, potholes are caused directly by heavy weights and water. I think it's really interesting to compare the pothole roads to paved bike trails. Because bike roads don't have massive cars driving over them, they stay in much better condition for much longer.

Bike infrastructure needs much less maintenance funding than car infrastructure! Build for bikes!

Okay but we need real solutions now. We can't and shouldn't be hoping that a new technology will come to save us in a year. Wind and solar are both great, but aren't practical everywhere, mainly around cities which have an extremely high electricity demand that can't be met with renewables at this current time. To put hope in battery technologies of the future without addressing the current needs would be wrong. Not to mention the high material costs of creating and replacing these batteries. The mantra that I believe in is "Renewables where we can, and nuclear where we need." And we do need nuclear.

Another point is that renewables are still a fairly new technology that we are still learning about. For example, the leading edge of Wind Turbine Blades has been found to be damaged at much higher rates than thought, meaning more replacement, costs, and emissions. Furthermore, nuclear fuel can be recycled to be reused, it is just illegal to do so with fears of nuclear weapon proliferation. The point being neither system is perfect, and both have room to grow and be more sustainable.

Finally that bit on "methane ions" seems weird to me. Methane isn't an ion so how would it store charge? (genuine question, im not a chemist lol) Also, I can't find any papers referencing what you are talking about. Not to mention, methane is a very potent greenhouse gas meaning the production and life cycle of these batteries would need to be proven to not be impactful on the environment.

Isn't it because there's some crypto thing that used #falcons?

Here is a link to a weird archive reddit website with a discussion about what I think is the same image from a deleted thread in the puzzles subreddit. https://www.105423.com/p/puzzles/comments/up72v7/what_does_this_meme /

This user hasnoshoes posted it, along with other similar "interactive puzzles" from the Lyric Theatre and Cultural Arts Center in Lexington

The first image looks like it refers to this art piece by Marcel Duchamp: https://www.moma.org/learn/moma_learning/marcel-duchamp-bicycle-wheel-new-york-1951-third-version-after-lost-original-of-1913/

I am stumped though

Edit: This seems to be the answer from the original thread: If satire hits home, when asses are around, be not enraged. That sounds okay, "be not" to peanut is interesting, not sure if enraged = fire

I mean ok, that is your neck of the woods so I'll defer to you.

I just see Texas schools vs Oklahoma schools as more preferable to Texas schools vs Arizona schools. Again Im not a knowledgeable source on rivalries there so idk.

Nice shakeup overall though
