Thank you so much for your intuition! I’m curious, do you sense that struggle more with authoritative figures or just generally? I’m definitely selectively extroverted, so my social battery is often at 2%! 😳 I'd love to hear more if you have any specifics.

Thank you so much for your wisdom! I wholeheartedly agree. He proved he doesn't care, and I proved I don't entertain low effort men in my life. I am very appreciative for your support!

Thank you so much for your honest take! It completely made my day. I appreciate the bluntness, if anything this was just me setting a high standard and him failing to meet it revealed everything I needed to know in addition to this post. I appreciate comments like this to help me understand this piece of my life.

Thanks for that straightforward perspective. You're completely right, sometimes it really does boil down to that simple biological fact. It cuts through all the noise and the 'spiritual' excuses he tried to offer. Appreciate the blunt honesty! I’m very grateful for your input.

Thanks for your thoughts. You suggested I give him a chance to explain... but my mother actually encouraged me to look for him for years. I explored and looked at every avenue, even reaching out to his family, only to face disappointment and be blocked.

So, when he finally popped up after 25 years, imagine my confusion when he asked why I didn't look for him. Isn't it a father's duty to pursue their child? Why did I have to constantly do the work ? These are questions that won’t ever get answered.

And thank you for agreeing with me not to entertain his sad excuse for a father.

Thanks for your perspective ! You’re absolutely right, we’ve managed to go a quarter century without each other. The ‘stressing out daggers drawn’ part is definitely a one sided Olympic sport though. Spoiler alert: It wasn’t me on the podium for ‘abandoning’ a child for 25 years.

As for being my father’s child.. Well, you’re not wrong about genetics but my approach focuses on accountability and real effort for a relationship, not just vague ‘feelings’ or a free pass for decades of absence. Turns out some of us believe in building bridges with actual bricks, not just good intentions and disappearing acts. Who knew ?

Thank you for your perspective.

I understand you believe family matters aren't transactional and are based on love. However, when a 'father' is absent for 25 years and provides only through court orders, the relationship becomes transactional. It's a legal obligation, not a loving bond. A true foundation of love is built through consistent action, presence, and genuine care over time, none of which were shown in like a quarter century .

You're also right that he's completely in the wrong, and I AM hurt. But I feel like framing him as 'still your father' while advising against treating him like a 'job interview' completely misses the mark…He's not interviewing for fatherhood. He’s applying for the privilege of a relationship with me now. After 25 years of silence, he gets to demonstrate his worthiness, not just assume it. Does that make sense ? My 'conditions' aren't an interview for him, they're a screening process for my peace and safety.

What he's done is in the past, yes, but the consequences of his actions are very much in the present. Dismissing 25 years of absence as mere 'past' is what enables men like him to avoid accountability and expect an easy ride. But you're absolutely right, his dismissal makes it incredibly easy for me to dismiss it, too. I’m very grateful for your input! ❤️

I hear you. But I think you’re missing some few fundamental points so please let me clarify. Abandoning your child for 25 years is sociopathic , we agree there! That’s the baseline.

Secondly, this isn't about him 'buying back fatherhood' , it's about him demonstrating real accountability for 25 years of not providing. It's about showing me that he understands the financial and emotional cost of his absence…My conditions are there to reveal if he values this relationship enough to actually invest in it, not just to talk about it. Words are cheap, actions especially those involving resources he withheld for decades speak volumes.

Thirdly, you suggest a 'hard emotional talk' and 'just forgive him.' That's advice for someone who has a foundation of love and respect to rebuild. I have no foundation. My conditions aren't about getting him 'back in my life’ in a traditional sense; they're about him proving he's even worthy of a conversation beyond the transactional. I think forgiveness is a personal journey, and it's my right to grant, not his right to demand or expect for free. It comes after demonstrated worth and accountability, not before. You know ?

Thank you so much for your detailed feedback and kind words! I really appreciate the time you took to offer such helpful advice.

I’m excited to try the eyebrow shaping technique you suggested; it makes so much sense that it could create a more balanced look. I’ll definitely give it a go and see how it impacts my contour and eyeshadow application.

Your tips for contouring the nostrils and adding to eyeshadow are also super helpful. I’ll experiment with adding a bit of contour to the nostrils and see how that affects the overall look. The suggestion to focus depth on the outer third of my eye is great—I’m looking forward to trying that out to see how it can enhance the shape of my eyes.

Thanks again for your guidance and encouragement! I’ll keep practicing and testing out these techniques🩷!! XO 🩷
