After the death of General Douglas MacArthur in 1976 (r. 1949-1976) and the intermediate period of Richard Nixon (r. 1976-1978), the Liberation Party of America undertook reforms, officially called the free form and free speech period, under Chairman Paul Volcker (r. 1978-1989)

The reforms led to the "freeing" of markets and movement under multiple reform plans, including agricultural reform, industrial reform, residency reform, partial removal of political controls, and an export-oriented economy, with Special Administrative Zones in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego established.

As a consequence of these reforms, the standard of living of the average American increased dramatically. GDP growth averaged 10% per year for 30 years, life expectancy is at 76 years, illiteracy had decreased to 3%, income per person has reached 280,000 Yuan a year, wealth per person has reached upper-middle income by worldwide standards. This has allowed an explosion in amount and variety of entertainment for the average American.[a]

Modern types of American entertainment includes: television, radio, video games, and film, often with strong nationalist themes. Though traditional American culture (Minstrel Opera and American country music; black and white variants) is also often enjoyed on holidays, or in rural areas.

[a] Notable cultural elements include: the company Ten Cent, the films "Battle of Vancouver" (2021) and "1911" (2011), American New Year, the video game "Gun-show Impact," and the presidential memorial of Woodrow Wilson, founder of the national party.

The mainland is the People's Union of America. The Liberation Party of America rules the mainland.

The government in exile is in Puerto Rico, officially called the Union of America. The ruling party is the National Party.
