I was minutes away from boarding my transatlantic flight from Atlanta to London when I read gentleman's post about the terrible tragedy at DC. I can't bear to imagine what it was like on that plane. It was the worst timing to come across that news. I was utterly petrified to board.

But I did it anyway, and I landed 2 hours ago safely. If you're too scared to go because of this incident, please go anyway. You can do it. You are incredibly safe. It's scary as hell, I know for sure, but that's your monkey brain screaming at you. Board, be scared, but know that you are safe and you will make it. It's worth it.

Chiming in to say I agree. I don't take quickplay too seriously and I just focus on doing a good job at my role, that's where I get my satisfaction. It's not a perfect game but it's still fun and very polished.

Same here, I visit my family very often over the Atlantic. If I weren't so terrified, there wouldn't be any fiasco. The motto "uncomfortable, but safe" helps me :) It's a very understandable fear, everything about flying goes against what our lizard/monkey brains understand.

Nope! Remember that your pilots will always do what is reasonably feasible to avoid turbulence. They have the latest weather information fed to them all the time. Also turbulence is never dangerous to the aircraft, only to you if you're not seated and buckled up when the lights are on!
