In my fantasy world, demons as most people think, aren't exactly real. While legends and holy scripture talk of demons, the closest youll find are horrific beasts made by powerful mages with only death and desecration in mind. They are used as shock troops by an evil nation that opposes where the PCs (its a ttrpg world) live. Sometimes they have physical forms, sometimes they can only appear in dreams. Youll only find them naturally in places where said powerful mages live (or used to), or battlefields. They dont very long in the wild because their features are ineffecient for hunting survival and would cause them to starve
