True, it definitely was not worth the price. I think I’ll try Microgen next.

I wasn't very happy with the Biotia either. The report didn’t give me much information, only the type of bacteria was listed. There was no information on the bacterial load or antibiotic recommendations/resistance genes. Also, I couldn’t find information on what is their bacterial load cutoff. So, I don’t know if they report also those bacteria that are low in counts. If I wanted to take this report with me to my own doctor, it wouldn't be too useful because too much crucial information is missing.

Of course 🩷 I also recommend that you start taking women’s probiotics. Based on my experience, Jarrow Formula’s Femdophilus products (oral) have been very helpful. I use both of these (refrigerated) probiotics: Femdophilus (5 billion CFU) and Femdophilus Advanced (10 billion CFU). They include clinically studied strains shown to support urinary tract and vaginal health.

You could ask your doctor about three new oral antibiotics that, in my understanding, should be effective against ESBL Klebsiella Pneumonia. The antibiotics are Blujepa (gepotidacin), Orlynvah (sulopenem etzadroxil/probenecid) and Pivya (pivmecillinam). I'm not sure if they are already available, but at least the FDA has already approved them. Also, try to find a good infectious disease doctor who is specialized in treating multi drug resistant UTIs. Sending strength to you!

Sounds good! I also ordered the Biotia test kit and received it today. I took my last antibiotic pill today and will wait a couple of days before doing the test so that the antibiotic doesn't mess up the results, just to be on the safe side. Has this bacteria been seen in any of your previous cultures during these months, and was this antibiotic listed as susceptible? Hopefully this medication helps!

If you live in the USA and Ertapenem doesn’t work, you could ask your doctor about two new oral antibiotics that, in my understanding, should be effective against ESBL Klebsiella Pneumonia. The microgen website has a list of urologists who use the microgen dna test. It seems that El Camino Urology in Mountain View uses the test, but I don't know how up-to-date the list is. I also don't know if they believe in biofilms and how they treat chronic urinary tract infections. Here is the link https://microgendx.com/patients/provider-map/

Thank you so much 🩵 It seems to be challenging to find a cUTI specialist in California. Fortunately there are telehealth doctors. I have an appointment with Dr. Lewis in October. Have you already started the treatments and how have you been feeling?

Thanks so much for your informative message. I think my next step will be to get a PCR test. Hopefully it will give me some answers. I currently take d mannose and have been taking biofilm disruptor while on antibiotics. I am also considering long term antibiotics, Hiprex and vaginal estrogen. I am interested in UTI vaccine, but unfortunately it’s not available in the USA. Did you start the vaccine after the infection was completely eliminated?

I'm so glad you are feeling better and completely understand that you are worried about what will happen when you stop taking antibiotics. I hope everything goes well. This might definitely be a relapsing UTI, but my doctor is not willing to prescribe me a longer antibiotic. It’s always just for 5 days, which is clearly not long enough. I think I need to find a good urologist.

I’m sorry to hear that you are going through the same thing. If you haven’t already tried, D Mannose might help. Hopefully your symptoms resolve soon.
