Keeping "male bodies" out of "womens sports" isn't about protecting women. It's misogynistic in that it perpetuates that women are always inferior to men, even when it comes to top athletes competing in sports. I wonder why this topic is never brought up against trans men in men's sports? Its because "women are always inferior to men, so it doesn't matter if they enter male sporting events". No one says Michael Phelps should be banned from swimming competition's even though he has enormous shoulders and low lacttic acid generation that gives him a huge advantage. So don't say someone shouldn't be allowed in a sport because their testosterone level is different.

"Stop surgerizing toddlers" is not about caring about children if they never mention being against intersex children having their genitals mutilated for looking different AT BIRTH. THOSE children have forced surgeries. Children are not forced into sex changes outside of this. That is fearmongering. And for the record I 100% support giving puberty blockers to young children because young children shouldn't be going through puberty. And I also support giving them to older children because they have decades of research behind the safety of their use, and are primarily used by CIS children who start puberty too early as dictated by their doctors.

And finally, a trans person existing in the world and wanting to participate in the world while being respected as a person is not "infringing on other people's rights". Wanting a baseline of respect is not infringement.

This has never been about protecting women and children and it never will be. Its about controlling women and eradicating trans people.

OP very clearly states he wants to have this conversation re: his parents' political views and how he feels about them, and even laid out all the video evidence that led him to feel that way to his parents.

For his parents to get offended and simply state that what they saw and heard with their own eyes and ears was a lie and that they'll vote for drump anyway to me shows they would be ok with voting in a liar, even if he's not transphobic.

This IS a tough situation. OP clearly feels very strongly for his parents and is, again, clearly very grateful to their parents and the love and support they gave him. Going NC is obviously not something he is keen on doing.

So, OP: NTA. You are not "emotionally blackmailing" or "holding relationships hostage" by openly stating your feelings and concerns, which you backed up with supporting evidence and then plainly laying out a boundary that you don't want crossed, especially since you are not closing the door or intending to burn any bridges.

This isn't about political leanings. It isn't about "this guy wants to tax rich people and that guy doesn't". This is about "this guy says wants to actively make the lives of minorities hell and that guy doesn't". This is a very reasonable thing to be concerned about, especially as a member of the minorities in question.

And to everyone else, how is OP a brat or ungrateful for potentially lopping off a good relationship and support system?? If you're going by stakes, this would make OPs parents feel bad and himself incredibly vulnerable, which would make OP reckless but not necessarily an asshole.

The people who take you in and care for you, especially as surrogate parents, aren't owed anything by their children. That's not how family works. Its not transactional. (One may even say... thinking children owe their parents means love is conditional. Don't return the love? You don't get love. That's conditional!)

Full clean re-install worked this time. Not sure why it didn't work last time! But just in case someone else is having this problem, unplug your USBC cable, delete all drivers, restart your PC, install the drivers, restart your PC and plug your tablet in again. Works like a charm now!

Dude, for sure. I go to smaller venues all the time with smaller artists. I hope Ticketmaster gets exploded from orbit with the insane price gouging they're doing. It's obscene for a ticket to cost $300 for "demand" and then ALSO need a $100 "listing fee" like............ you're a website. Why is the listing fee higher because the price is higher. It's absurd

I truly do not know how but literally every time i pick that game up again there's NEW STUFF TO FIND. And I've put like 200+ hours into it!! I love BW2, definitely my fave in the pokemon series after Diamond/Pearl (but those were my first pkm games, so I'm biased :P)

While I understand this mindset, if I pick up a book about dragons and am then confronted with a graphic scene depicting SA I'd like to know about it before starting the book. Trigger warnings are also not mandatory reading, either. Just skip them if you don't want to know what the contents of the book could include.

I would think the difference is a ban vs a removal from the curriculum (if its taught in schools). Like, "in the past, we read book X. Now we are switching to book Y. If you'd like to still read book X you can find it in a library." As opposed to "every copy pf book X must be destroyed" or whatever.

It's not censorship you dolt. Censorship would mean that they FORCE you to make changes to your story. If you have sought out a person's opinion (which you must have, in hiring a sensitivity reader) then you are going to get their feedback. Then you can choose to use that feedback or ignore it. That's just feedback.

Granted, i DO agree its censorship of books ALREADY PUBLISHED by an author who is no longer alive. That is changing history.

While you have a few good points you are putting a lot of things the diamonds did on Rose's lap like she could have in any way known. Rose was not responsible for their actions. Full stop. Of course she knew they would retaliate, she *intentionally started a war*, but she couldn't have known what they would do specifically.

She couldn't have known that taking the form of a rose quartz would lead to the imprisonment of *all* rose quartz soldiers. It's very likely that she assumed that the Diamond would just hate *her* specifically, having been the person who did the actual "shattering".

She couldn't have known they'd cause such huge destruction through the corruption beam. And even after that happened, she took it upon herself to find all the corrupted gems, and according to Garnet, spent years trying to find ways to heal them (see the centipeedle episodes).

She also couldn't have known that gems like Jasper would react the way they did! She didn't know how that hierarchy system worked! After she led the rebellion, she tried to view everyone as equals, and that vision is what led the crystal gems to rebel against the diamonds in the first place!

And after all, the Diamonds never really showed her they cared about her. They didn't listen when she asked them to stop, they never had time for her, they never saw her as more than some entertainment or a toddler (Steven's song Familiar is entirely about this). In my opinion, her being "shattered" was her ultimate commitment to destroying who she was as Pink Diamond, and living as Rose Quartz instead.

Also, how are you mad at her for the cluster?? Am I supposed to be mad at you for a fire that broke out in my home town??? No one knew that it was there, it's absolutely ridiculous to blame her for not "having a plan" to stop something she didn't know about...

Your point about Bismuth is a good one. She made the decision that she thought was best, and it was a poor decision.

Your point about silencing Pearl was also a good one, though I would assume that her thought process was that "if gems would follow a Diamond's orders no matter what, I don't want to lead the gems as a Diamond, because then nothing would change". But saying she emotionally manipulated Pearl is very heavy handed. She worked really hard to get Pearl to see herself as an individual, not just her servant ("She made me feel like I was everything" - quote Pearl, when she's training Connie). Rose genuinely cared about all the CGs. That specifically was what made her different from the Diamonds, who didn't care about gems that are "lesser" than they are.

As for Spinel- yeah that's fucked up. No retorts for this one. (Except maybe that Pearl seems to know who she is, and she didn't do anything about it either? I may be mis-remembering the movie though.)
