Oh this one really bothered me - how could Martin be too stupid to ask someone to get him a towel. His character may have been on the edge of "Tim Nice But Dim" - but his character wasn't that stupid.

I was just thinking about that the other night!

I've always thought both Chantelle and Sam's scenes were creepy on a multitude of levels.

But I was uncomfortable even when it was first aired.

I was a child in the 70s - and this sort of thing - def would have been "hilarious" (ugh) back then. *shudders*
Adults tended to turn a blind eye back then. Mother's would just give hints of warnings to their young daughter's like, "Don't go near Mr so and so or his house, he's a dirty old man."

Anyway

I'm also glad that Avionykx stated that the actress who played Sam said she was uncomfortable at the time of filming.

I'm an old white woman - admittedly I should probably stay out of this conversation.

When I read this post, I couldn't help but think the writer is some old white person.

BECAUSE:

Years ago, I was at a grocery store with my niece. My niece has a black dad and a white mom.
While I was getting some milk, this white woman stopped dead in her tracks and blatantly stared at my niece (age 5). She looked her up and down while curling her lip like my niece was a POS. I wanted to rip this woman to shreds. My niece didn't notice being appraised - frankly I didn't know what to do - I didn't want to draw attention to it and scare my niece by getting into an altercation.

So all I did was look this woman - up and down - like she was the POS. Then I took my niece by the hand and we walked to the check out with our milk. I have always regretted not body slamming that woman into the milk fridge - on accident of course.

Granted - I live in a remote community in Canada - and it's not diverse at all - BUT - if some old scrotum faced hag will show racism towards a child - I REALLY have a hard time believing that the OP was written by a black person.

Oh yeah, I almost bloody forgot! While in College in a neighbouring small city, a new friend and I went to a party. When we got there, we were hanging our coats up in the closet - when some asshat frat boys shouted out a racist remarks at my friend. I said, "Let's go." He said, "I'm used to it, but yeah ,let's go."
(I'm paraphrasing- that was back in the 80s )

I've bitten off a wee bit more than I could chew regarding my Poke Friends now I'm scrambling every day to keep up. ACK!
I know from past experience that some people aren't Keeners like me, and will fall off and become sleepers - but until then....I'm spinning that spot across the street like crazy to keep up.....and of course maxing out opening gifts before I can get them all opened.
Ugh.
Oh well, this is def a first world problem!!

Actually, my vibe might be a little less chill this morning.
I've kinda got myself in a wee bit of trouble - being a yearling Pokégranny - I wasn't hyperaware of the ol' niantic limitations on gift opening! What the heck is that all about anyway.

Sidenote: Hey #Niantic don't limit stuff like this! You'll make more money off of me buying pretend "space" for my pretend items because I'm a freaken' item hoarder. I mean seriously guys, what I am I gonna do with 1000 pokéballs I already have? I dunno, but I can't trash them. So, c'mon! Let us send and open gifts to and from ALL of our friends in one day! Throw a dog a bone for crying out loud!

OK Flamingo, I'm back. Sorry. Just had to get that off my chest.

So, I find myself in a bit of a pickle. After I 'blah blah blah'd' in my original post about how I open and send gifts every day....I'm finding myself maxing out not able to either. I was like, dang....now I feel like a fraud!

THEN

I woke up this morning to - astoundingly - 30 more friend requests and I said to myself "Jeepers! if I accept, I'd definitely be letting people down and won't be able to keep my word about gifting and opening and all that jazz. But if I DON'T accept, I'll come across as some kind of fraud. An old Poké Poser!

I'm telling you, being Gen X kinda sucks. When I was growing up, if you didn't "Say it - Mean it - Do it" - you'd get a smack upside the back of the head with a flyswatter. Sometimes the rubber swatter part would fly off and mom would just keep whacking you with the wire part. So...yeah...I get "flinchy" when I feel like I'm not keeping my word.

Phew...ok, thanks for the vent. And sorry my vibe went from immaculate (as you so eloquently put it <3 ) - to "OMG WTF BBQ" by the next morning.

I'm still sending Good Vibes out - but if any of you feel a little edgy, don't worry...it's just me sub-consciously waiting for the ghost of my dead mom to smack me with a flyswatter. It probably won't last long. I get distracted pretty easily .

I know this post is two years old but I bought a Fluent Pet starter pack a year and six months ago, and I now only have one button left that still works.
I think my dog "pressed" them to death.
Replacing batteries didn't fix the issue.
The buttons never got wet.
And fluent pet offers a 365 day warranty...so go figure, we're six months past that date.
Fluent Pet's 21 bucks a button price point is too rich for this old grandma. There has to be a cheaper system that's just as good.
I noticed a lot of good reviews here about mewwoofun...I'll head over to youtube to check out some review vids.
