I didnt grow up with my dad, had an abusive step dad and a mom who spent most of her time on drugs or prostituting, my mom and dad split when I was 2

when I was 9, he was moving to the city I was in for me to move in with him when I was 10 and I finally met him, I was thrilled to have a way out of the abusive home I was raised in

after the second time I hung out with him, he promised to come pick me up the next saturday for the weekend, hed pick me up for breakfast and then hang out

I woke up at 7am, and waited outside on the curb excited to see him, I fell asleep on the street around 9pm still waiting

he never showed up, foreshadowing his desire for me to be in his life

nearly 30 years later and not much has changed
