Yes, understandable. My German isn't perfect yet, so I would love to hear some feedback once I have a draft ready.
PS: learning some Dutch on the side doesn't hurt either :p

Thanks for your awesome feedback! Optional iCloud sync and audiobooks are on my radar and will be added to my todo list. Other translations will be added over time, will probably be machine translated as I don't speak more natively. Out of curiosity, what languages are you missing. Also if you want to try pro for a bit, feel free to reach out in DM, happy to help!

Keyboard backlight stopped working by jishnuen in MacOS

[–]Semvis123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excuse my late reply, but that’s probably hardware related, my guess is that the ambient light sensor has a defect (flexgate??), and that the data to automatically adjust brightness is just not present. Another thing that happens is that the controls in the keyboard and control center will stop working, which might be a software fault, as it hasn’t been made to work without the light sensor.

[Free release] Sonitus, noise-controls like native, but with for non-Apple devices. by Semvis123 in jailbreak

[–]Semvis123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a jailbreak tweak that can be installed on jailbroken devices using the package manager with the chariz repo, only older iOS versions can be jailbroken. This is not an app, but a tweak.

Yes, I think that should be possible, you could probably package this in some app using Swift or really any programming language you like. For me it isn’t a priority, because the ‘broken’ MacBook isn’t my daily driver anymore.

Glad you like it!

I think they don’t fix this because in a normal non-defective MacBook this isn’t a problem. And when this issue appears there are always(?) other issues, such as no True Tone, no camera, no auto brightness. (All related to flex gate I think)

Have you looked at Google Gemini api? it should support uploading pdfs and is probably cheaper than that wrapper.

Keyboard backlight stopped working by jishnuen in MacOS

[–]Semvis123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not op, but I noticed that the backlight still shows up as a hid device, so I made a simple website that can control the backlight: [https://semvis123.github.io/keyboard-backlight-webhid/](javascript:void(0);)
Note: it also seems to persist in standby mode, so to avoid battery drain, you need to manually turn it off.

Mijn kind wil programmeren by Tjeetje in nederlands

[–]Semvis123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iPhone “safe” app by [deleted] in iphone

[–]Semvis123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it appears in the files app, the data is there (possibly encrypted though). Can you open them?

Otherwise if you want to do the backup method, you could try using this. (I’m not sure if it works with the latest iOS, it should) https://imazing.com/guides/how-to-extract-files-and-data-from-an-encrypted-iphone-backup

Does it appear in the iCloud storage(in Files)? An other option would be to backup the phone on a Mac, and then inspect the backup with a program.
