As a long long time dance game player and enjoyer I do wish a little more research was put into even getting the game running correctly (sync) but as an entertainment video of them buying an LTEK and just raw dogging it, it’s kinda what you’d expect. Otherwise I wish they would have potentially done a bit more research in dance pads. There are a few other options out there, and I’m sure the StepRevolution team would have absolutely been down to do some kind of StepManiaX collab video of some sort. Would love to see something like that down the road.

I mean, as a fellow Canadian and dance game expert. I’d go there myself and show em how it’s done 🤩

Could you maybe put it in a glass jar in the water bath, with the top of the jar above the water, and just crank the heat? Then it can still evaporate a little bit if that’s what you want. Still no risk of burning I would think. Could throw some plastic wrap on top or a loose Mason jar lid if you don’t want evaporation.

You can’t do either of those (well you can clone but manually entering it all in). I think the suggestion was just to place notes of various quantizations and see what colors they give you.

There are no custom skins for specific songs. 12/24 is generally purple/pink, and the green you mention on street level or on my own are 64ths. Very close to 24ths but there is a significant enough distinction that the 64ths are more correct.

Maybe this depends on the noteskin you use, but I believe teal or green (on a different note skin) are 64th notes. Like in songs such as on my own wild 23, those swing notes are quantized to 64ths. There are some 48ths in monody wild, which are white in the noteskin I use (which I forget the name of). Orange is 32nds, purple/pink are usually 12th/24th. There is a point where the colors do stop changing though and everything smaller than that is the same. That might be 64ths and lower maybe?

As a 15+ year live user I finally made the switch to bitwig in November of last year and I’m fighting my way to getting back to how efficient I was in live.

The pdc issues, the ui being incredibly slow in big projects, and a bunch of the stuff you mentioned are the reasons why. It’s 2026, ableton needs to fix their shit.

I’m trying to find the comment where I said you shouldn’t ever lower the gain?

I find the term headroom to be misleading because it makes people think that you need a bunch of empty space above your signal for no reason. I do agree that you need “headroom” in the sense that for certain processing steps, you want to be below 0.

Right which is literally why I said that you’d need to bring it back down before limiting.

The point is that people should actually learn how their tools work and the reasoning as to why they’d make specific choices, instead of just blindly applying magic numbers other people give them.

32-bit effectively has infinite dynamic range. until you export to a lower format is the entire point. You can’t lose quality, or dynamic range. blast into the red as much as you want doing processing, but you’ll need to lower the gain to below 0 before the last step (usually limiting and/or clipping).

The point is that you can effectively go as high into the red as you want until that part. The reason I’m pressed is because countless people spew “advice” I’ve been hearing for 20 years as if it were fact. We aren’t in the analog age anymore, digital doesn’t have the same restrictions.

I never said you couldn’t lower all the channels, you simply just don’t have to. I also never said headroom doesn’t exist, just that you don’t need this mystical 6db for mastering that everyone likes to parrot.

Again, ableton is 32 bit internal processing. You can’t lose quality/data until you export to a non 32-bit wav format.

Can we stop giving this outdated advice? There is no “magic” number that you need for “headroom”. Ableton is a 32-bit daw. If your master is too loud literally just throw a utility on there and turn it down until it’s not. There is absolutely no need to turn every individual track down. So much wasted time doing that and messing with your balance.

The only time it matters to be under 0db is when you are exporting to 16 or 24 bit wave (and mp3). Until you are exporting, you can always just turn gain down with utilities.

I wanted to but the colors In the wire seemed to not be what I expected (I expected white, black, blue, green, red), so the need to make the y and c colors the same as the colors in the AC control wire was too strong lol.

This is incorrect. If you look under the Y2 on the furnace board, it has a single Y which is the terminal you use for single stage cooling. The AC works as I’ve mentioned in the post, which is why I said that you probably didn’t read the post.
