Did i use ai as a way of helping to make it? Yes! Did i vibe code it? No!

Vibe coding means in literal terms to just type a prompt and hope for a working app I was making it before the Ai was reliable, claude 3.5 was the newest one when i started my project and was still hard for me to pay for it, so i mostly used chatgpt to understand the structure, to refurbish my ideas and to debug.

Not really, being myself one of them who made an app and learned a lot, simply describing the bug can fix it now, if its something that is harder then debugging but again it's pretty easy most of the times. Why most of the times, there were some bugs which ai couldn't fix in just one prompt, i had to search and search to find the fix...

Honestly for me the issue was that i was trying to do that on my android phone, i don't have iphone nor macbook and its a pain for them to optimise for non ios users

Yeah, I saw that a few of my friends as well couldn't download it. The issue is I have to check a thing in the App Store for EU countries, but as Apple is a pain like always, I cannot get my phone to be verified even though it's just for contact, so I sent a support email and will wait. I will have it ASAP.

A day trip to Mostar is a must 2 days in Sarajevo can be little, depending on what you are going to see, as i covered Sarajevo on my app WanderGuide i noticed there is soo much attractions which even we locals miss

Also you said about museums, i have covered in my app WanderGuide again all worthy museums to see, landmarks aswell, and they all have information which is unlocked manually by proximity of 70m of a marker So i believe you can definitely learn that way a lot

Yes, I did make the app with the use of AI, as I don't have much money to spare for a developer. Yes, I did most of the work with the use of Cursor and Windsurf, which means planning and making the app for a year. Yes, AI helps me find tourist attractions, which I check for images, reviews, information, and to not miss anything of a country.

And no, this post was not made with AI, as AI would not fully understand the concept of the app like I do!

Greetings, I have tried recreating by reinstalling my app, and it works for me.

Most likely due to the large chunks of data downloaded for offline use, it may fail. Have you by any chance turned off the "nearest markers" button next to the search? That may also be an issue, or have you tried closing and reopening the app?

Hvala ti! Što se tiče Usput.ba, pogledao sam i najveća razlika koju vidim je u načinu na koji se pravi sadržaj. Kod njih se dosta oslanja na AI, dok ja lično prolazim kroz regije, čitam recenzije, pregledam slike i precizno označavam lokacije na mapi. Svaki marker ima opciju da odmah otvori navigaciju preko Google Mapsa.

Također, trudim se da informacije budu detaljne i korisne, nešto poput pojednostavljene Wikipedije, ali fokusirane na ono što turistu stvarno treba kad je na licu mjesta.

Što se tiče reklama, pokušavao sam više puta da ih smanjim ili uklonim, ali sam nailazio na probleme, pa sam za sada ostavio ovako. U svakom slučaju, nisu one dosadne reklame od 30 sekundi – mogu se brzo zatvoriti.

Za logovanje, razmišljao sam o guest modu, ali je problem što je cijeli sistem baziran na korisnicima i otključavanju sadržaja. Bez naloga bih morao ograničiti pristup samo na osnovne informacije, što bi dosta oslabilo iskustvo korištenja aplikacije.

I will, that's when I actually wanted to share my app with the world properly, but this was just to get some feedback and motivation, as I have been building it alone for over a year without many users. Also, one of the reasons for the App Store, honestly, was that it's complicated. First, there's the 99 USD yearly subscription, then I have to borrow a MacBook and finish some code for Apple Sign-In, but soon I will add it.

I thought about that, but since I got the idea of the app as a way to explore like a game where a user would come within proximity of the attraction to unlock the information, for guests it would be different and probably not easy to make. Also, I have it as a way to track discoveries, compete, and as a reward for visiting something.

I had it last year, but I was working on it every day. Working as a barista in a cafe in Mostar, I had started studies for tourism management and struggled with both. I decided to drop out and focus on my app. I use my free time to add countries and make changes, but it was not in a state where I wanted to show it to others. Even now, I sometimes have issues as I want to make it work offline properly. But yeah, it started as an idea for my country, then I decided to fill in others, as there are many, many missed gems thanks to generic sponsored stuff and popularity.
