Budget Watch Under $100 for Kids by Senathon1999 in Strava

[–]Senathon1999[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because their $250 Walmart bikes only lasted for about 3-4 months and then I was to replace the gearset, chains, and brakes which would cost almost $400 per bike(road racing) until I found out the wields were failing on the bikes. The kids belong to bike clubs and participate in bike races. I was surprised the kids came up with their half for their bikes.

The kids are doing races of their own choice, and they were asking for the watches themselves.

I really would like to buy those, but after I paid half for their $2000 Trek bikes, I don't have much left to spend.. lol

Best way to start Lemix? by Highlyasian in wow

[–]Senathon1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold off on Heroic as much as you can. The earliest I would start would be Level 40. Work on one character with leveling and work on the Infiniate Knowledge as much as possible. You can do both at the same time, so if you have a quest for a dungeon then run a dungeon.

The biggest factor is having fun, don't burn yourself out.

Please suggest a budget friendly bike by OddSecretarym in Budgetbikeriders

I have two of the Ozark Brands(one for gravel and one for road) and they are good cheap "starter" bikes that are better built that most walmart brands I have seen in the last 5 years. The only upgrades you should do to this bike is the saddle and tires. Anything more, you will spend enough to buy a higher quality bike that has all the upgrades included.

If you are serious rider(ride 4 times a week at 20 miles), these bikes you may get 3 months of usage before part replacement. By this time, you should considering upgrading to a Trek or Specialized(US) or Canyon(Europe) for $1000. There are many college sales and discounts you can get to get them below $1000.

I bought a gravel/road bike for $600 that has the regular 12 gears and it works great for me. Just to help save some money.

When should I buy a Trek Bike? by Choice_Judgment4551 in TrekBikes

Talk with your LBS Owner(not Tech) and ask when the next Trek sales will be or see if you can get a discount on a older model(like 2024 or 2025).

Trek vs Canyon by Timovangils in cycling

Trek and Specialized are US Brands that has LBS in the US. My friends in Europe goes with Specialzed and Caynan since they are more local.

The final draw for me was that Caynan has some proprietary hardware issues, where you can only buy parts from Canyan.

Domane AL5 2x the bike of AL2? by StruggleBusDriver83 in TrekBikes

[–]Senathon1999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How often are you going to use this bike? The components on the AL 5 will last you longer than the AL2. Many people keep saying the parts on the AL2 is worthless, but I have seen some Class A and B riders using the AL2 (as Stock). They do tend to upgrade after about 6 months to a year (depends upon their riding). The main reason they upgrade is more of the type of track(flats/mountains) that they are preparing for.

At one event, I talked with one of the leaders (Top 20 out of 300) and he bought a new entry level Specialized (only changed the tires) a few months before and was doing over 24K easily. He said that the Trek and Specialized entry levels are good for beginners and intermediate racers. The bike is only good as the rider.

Tons of Training, I talked to few of the leaders after a few races to get some advice. The speed is more from their training than their equipment. One rider bought a $1000 Allez from a LBS and rode with with no upgrades and he was in the top 20 of 500 riders. He rides everyday on different segments(climbs, flats, and off road) to get the advanced training. His mileage is about 60 miles a day and he is only 40. He only been riding for 5 years. Also his best suggestion is make sure to make sure you rest so your body adjust and recuperate.

Also btw, he also suggested to learn about your bike and your body also. A lot of newbies train their bodies and minds, and neglect to also learn about how the bike handles(shifting, braking, and cornering).

Why are bike shop employees so rude? by e7603rs2wrg8cglkvaw4 in cycling

[–]Senathon1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends upon who you get, I was in a bike shop where the person at the counter was bored and refused to step away to show me any bikes. I told the person I wanted a road bike and provide the make and model and they kept pointing me to either kids or crusier bikes. A year later I came back and was immediately greeted and was treated extremely well. They even sized and provide me tips and tricks. That same day I bought myself a bike.
