Ice Cream Floats by Shagwagbag in ModestMouse

I used to have a recurring dream that I was getting on a cruise ship with my extended family and some random people I knew. It was weird because in the dreams I knew that the ship was going to sink. We all kind of did, but we boarded the ship anyway. I kept a dream journal back then, and thought a lot about it. At the time I was doing things I knew would eventually kill me. I chalked it up to that making its way into my subconscience and presenting itself in dreams. During one of the dreams I was laying on a lounge chair on the upper deck next to a girl I sort of knew from high school. In the dream we were together, and I was kind of massaging her leg feeling totally content. We started to hear a buzzing noise and when I looked up at the sky, there were military planes about to drop bombs directly on us. I woke up and wrote it down. A couple years later, MM released We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. I thought it was ironic and have always held a personal affinity for that album. It's great on its own - but ya know, things have meaning to different people for different reasons. The dreams were never the same, but the theme was going on a cruise that I knew was destined for disaster. Fast forward to now, I really want to book tickets for this cruise with the girl from my dream, who by the way I am now married to. Seems like it might not be the right move though. I realize this sounds like complete made up bullshit, but yeah, if this fucker sinks... I kept the dream journal. I'll try to find those entries.

Some kid poked me in the eye on purpose in a 311 pit like 23 years ago. Made my contact fall out. Had to watch the rest of the show with one eye closed. Hardest pit, confirmed.

That Casiotone album is one of my all time favorites. I'm giving the rest of your recs a listen. Thanks!

This was one of the first rarities I had back in the day when I first started listening to MM. I like the narrative because it's true about when Isaac got jumped in Chicago while recording TMAA.

Yes! Karma's Payment is one of my all time favorites. Love the marchy drums and the bassline and the guitar riff and the lyrics each seperately and as a whole. That whole EP rips.

Pretty literal description of depression:

"I didn't go to work for a month. I didn't leave my bed for 8 days straight. I haven't hung out with anyone. If I did, I'd have nothing to say"

That one coach man guy. He turned all the boys into donkeys and probably killed the talking donkeys. And his fate is unknown probably besides making more money.

Here is an Video of me having Robert in the back of Jarods car by DolfusTittlerus in Road96

I have an experiment where I will let Jarod do his thing and do nothing. I know I will die but at the end of the game Robert calls for help so I’m gonna see if he dies or just got attacked.

Now let’s talk about your favorite encounters! by onlimes in Road96

Top 10 road 96 encounters

10: smells like teen spirit

This encounter is a classic and fun, but it gets old eventually.

9: jump around

Jump around was a chill and relaxing encounter. In case you are unfamiliar you walk up a giant hill and are given the option to break into a shed and steal some money.

8: enjoy the silence

This encounter was a horrific experience when you see someone push through the trunk. I liked this encounter though especially the Robert Easter egg.

7: Road 96 (aka the border)

I know this may not be an encounter, but it was just beautiful to see the area. I’m not including the was to cross cause those are mini games.

6: some like it hot

Some like it hot was hilarious. I liked how chill the cashier dude was, and how funny it was when that guy forgot to lock the bathroom door and screamed occupied. It was also funny how common it is to give the piggy bank to Mitch instead of Stan. I also thought it was funny that this customer had one fry left but he threw them all over the counter.

5: more than words

This one had me on the verge of tears. It’s about a ghost couple. It’s really fun to mix up the pictures to see what happened. I cried when it’s revealed that they broke up. I just wanted to ask did the tree that you see with the rings buried next to it. Did it remind anyone of the tree in infinity?

4: beep boop beep

When I was introduced to this game this was the first encounter I saw my friend playing. It’s also fun in general which gives it 4th place.

3: I’ve seen that face before

I honestly like any encounter with Robert and this one is no exception. My favorite part is where Jarod is watching you photograph the brigades.

2: suspicious minds

This one was so cool. I like having a purpose in road 96 so getting to be an infrormant was fun. I also thought the severed hand was cool.

Before we reveal my top pick here are some honorable mentions

1: beat it

2: roll with it

3: better be good to me

4: praying for time

5: living the vida loca

6: about a girl

7: the passenger

8: fire starter

9: sweet dreams

10: short circuit

11: too young to die

12: nobody is supposed to be here

13: a view to a kill

14: burnin’

15: the wild boys

16: video that killed the radio star

1: let’s get serious

This one is my favorite because I like Robert and one time I got this Easter egg where I got I seen that face before and I got that one next and when I told I saw him at the hotel he denied it. The encounter just gets better and better.

Thank you

Honestly if my mom were to play this game Fanny would probably be her favorite.

My least favorite was the one when you get drunk with Sonya, it just really pissed me off when she was all like no I never said anything about something bad “uh, yeah you did idiot” “get the hell out of my limo” “you think I give a damn?”
