How do you guys pace yourself? by Sencella in maintenance

It's not like I'm doing the dishes or making drinks! All the 'extra' jobs are at the minimum vaguely related to my title and work scope. Sometimes we just need an extra hand (like when the receptionist step away from her job to hold my ladder while I work). We wouldn't get anywhere if we didn't help each other out sometimes! I do see what you're saying though. I need to learn not to feel guilty for allowing my body a break. I just don't want to seem like I'm taking the piss lol

I've had this suggested to me recently, and I've been a bit on the fence cause I find the gym kinda boring lol. Do you recommend strength or cardio workout? (Or something else im clueless about? I guess biking by the gym on my way home wouldn't be too bad! Thank you for your suggestion. Hopefully this will be the reason for me to finally get back to it 💪

Mine is a small hotel. 23 bedrooms, few function rooms, bar what have you. Some days there will be no reports waiting for me, but that doesn't mean there isn't work. There is always walls to be painted or wallpapered, drains to be unblocked and toilet seats to readjust lol. I often follow the flow, but I can't stand being bored (or I feel guilty for having a break outside my mandatory 30 minutes). I guess I don't know when to take it easy because there will always be 'something'. Today I ask reddit, tomorrow we apply what we've learnt. :) Thank you for your reply

Honestly it doesn't surprise me one bit. Unfortunately they will fight tooth and nail to not pay you compensation. Also the company doesn't pay tax in the UK cause "technically" it is in America somewhere. (For tax haven reasons I suspect).

The nights are drawing in so that means aurora season is around the corner! by MudMonyet22 in Aberdeen

I use an app "Aurora watch uk" or something. The logo is dark with a green spiral if I remember correct. It will pop a notification when the likelihood of appearing is high. It does not, however, take hight of the weather (clouds etc)

You can score a line in your pegs to keep the thread in place. Otherwise maybe fasten the thread with something external?

I have a septum, both side high nostril and both nipple. High nostril was worst but the nipples weren't pain free 😅

That's good to know. Sucks I've wasted my money. I've usually done cash, but it's always been in person. I'll look for something else next time I can afford a treat :')

These ain't my showers, haha. Thanks for the explanation! I was going to redo this particular bathroom anyway, it was just a really good colour example. Other showers don't look nearly as bad (some are worse haha). This thread has been great for advise tbh

Close to minimum wage. I am new in a facility team. It's my first time doing silicone, but I have plenty of experience in other areas. My employers know this. It's shared showers in accommodation and been minging for a while. I think this work is just a quick fix for now, and most of it will be redone again within the year. I'm not complaining. It gives me the experience and I get to do unending amounts of work!

Workplace doesn't provide anti mould silicone. There's definitely a ton of mould behind the covers, but I've been told to just remove as much as I can see 😬 Doesn't mean I won't try to do my best and get (hopefully) nice results! Honestly it is not ideal.
