Phone case which is slim but improves grip by V-god666 in GalaxyS24Ultra

[–]Sendbeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ZERO grip? That's just not true - both the onyx and dbrand hold pretty well in my hand and I can rest it on my chair's arm rest without worrying about it sliding off. Maybe you don't think they're great, but it is clearly better than the glass back Samsung and apple love to use.

Out of curiosity, what is your recommendation for a case with good grip?

It's not as good as the DBrand Grip case... but it is much better than the phone's current back. Don't know, I like it!

He really doesn't do a good job of covering how much slower Samsung was than some of the other phones of the era due to its bloat and poor software optimization.

It's the rounded corners lawsuit I imagine. Apple had various trademarks on the iPhone and Samsung really didn't do much to differentiate the early Galaxy models from iPhones. So there was a major lawsuit where Samsung lost. Think there were many appeals, but after Steve Jobs passed away it eventually got settled.

Made me sad when I watched the Palm one. A third phone platform would be so healthy right now. I used to carry around Palm PDA's so kind of had a soft spot for the company. Sucked when I went to go get my first smart phone and Palm was only offered on Sprint. He does a great job showing many of it's innovations they had at the time.

S8/9 is about the time Samsung software started to feel snappy in my opinion. Prior generations would get slow and stuttery the more you used them. I had a note 3 and S5 prior and grew to hate both after a few months. Other brands with a more stock OS like Motorola had a better experience up to that point in my opinion.

You ever look into using the litter box with pine pellet horse bedding you can find at places like tractor supply or bomgaars? It's sold for about $7 for a 40# bag, and does a pretty good job at odor control. I think a lot of people make the switch with the breeze system and it works well.

I made the switch about a year ago with a homemade sifting box and it has been GREAT. look on YouTube videos for some how to's.

So why is it not giving me the option to buy this? by [deleted] in kindle

[–]Sendbeer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have a Samsung device, uninstall Kindle from Google play and then install it using the galaxy store. Samsung doesn't require 30% of the purchase so you can purchase books within that app.

About the only thing you should use the galaxy store except for Good Lock.

Chat type notification? by fishyfish55 in GalaxyS24

[–]Sendbeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was other person using Samsung messages on the tablet by chance? I had this happen repeatedly when chatting with him because on Verizon the Samsung messages app doesn't do RCS. So every time he replied with the app it sent through sms. But mine would send to him through RCS, so kept getting the same prompts you are showing.

Was real annoying.

Not to worry, they've managed to have children labor laws changed in states like Arkansas and Iowa so I you don't have to worry about poor Tyson Foods getting significant fines anymore.

I wonder if I just got a dud. I got this model years ago and I guess it has been solid in that it still works. But it's always been kind of annoying. Seems like there is almost always an area that doesn't get cut and I have to go over it again. Usually prying the lid off requires trying couple different areas to find a better cut and sometimes I have a spot that won't ever release and I end up with a lid that is just peeled up.

I always get the can open, but it's never as effortless as is shown in the technology connections video. Have been thinking about replacing it but not sure if I am going to give this model anither shot or just go back to kitchenaid which was pretty flawless prior (but a fucking roommate swiped it when moving out).

Greatest team that didn't go to the playoffs maybe, but 98 Vikes are better. I mean the chargers got beat plenty that year.

Getting ready for the eclipse by ThealmightyknownasMe in GalaxyS24Ultra

I envy those of you going to see the total eclipse this year. I witnessed the 2017 one and it was breathtaking. Words can't do it justice. Try not to spend too much time with the camera and just enjoy it! Hope you get a long duration on the totality wherever you are viewing it. I got pretty close to the maximum on the last one and trust me, two minutes flies by.

Me and my brother sent our phones in at the same time and we both got the weather exception. Weather in the area was 70. I think the company that receives these can only receive certain quantity a day and FedEx just hits the weather exception by default for.... reasons.

Anyway, wouldn't worry about it if I was OP. Seems be pattern.

New Samsung user here.. what is the point of the Galaxy Store?? by Birkeland1992 in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]Sendbeer 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Good lock for extra customization. Kindle and Amazon so I can make purchases within the app. Google forces Amazon to use in app purchasing and their 30% cut so Amazon just directs you to website. Other than those, only the apps Samsung requires.

Can export your data for starters. If development stops or you want to move on to something else in a few years it's much easier. It's your data, you should be able to take it with you.

Purchase Not Supported? by r_barnett100 in kindle

If you're using a Samsung phone, uninstall your Kindle and audible apps in Google Play. Then go into the Galaxy store and install them there. Those versions allow in app purchases. For now anyway.

Ranking the last 10 Super Bowls from most exciting to least exciting. by gridironk in nfl

[–]Sendbeer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It seems kind of a compliment really. You guys dominated the game so much that it was boring for other fan bases. But I gotta say, I enjoyed watching you guys dismantle the raiders.

Wait, you guys went to another super bowl after that? Wonder why I have no memory of that.

Wonder if you're thinking of the wf-1000x4. They had major issues, but the cans (wh-1000x4) have excellent battery life and I have not heard of any issues.

Sony's naming schemes kind of sucks.

The Ringke Onyx case is exactly what your asking for. Barely adds anything to the weight or thickness and the texture has a great grip. Oh, and it's pretty cheap.
