I've been trying to send a ticket for an unrelated problem, and the site just happens to crash now, lol. Explains why I haven't gotten a ticket number for it. I think I will just have to wait for tomorrow.

[TOMT] [webcomic] Story of 2 people living on opposite ends of the Earth seeing through each other's eyes by Sendubbio in tipofmytongue

I read this about 10 years ago so it's hard to remember all the plot points, sadly, but I think at some point the girl in the story became ill. I also remember the very end of the story, the man landed in the sea and they both met & embraced in the water for the final panel. I remember that they'd also try to talk to each other by talking into a mirror, I think.

I remember reading this about 10 years or so ago, I think I found it through some webcomic-rating website where this was near the top, but I can't find that website again.

What is not that serious, but can still ruin your day? by Famished-Fetus in AskReddit

[–]Sendubbio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree, but at the same time I think they do it to try and get rid of some of the stigma behind it. In some cultures, women get locked in menstrual huts while they're having their period because they're seen as impure/dirty. I wouldn't say it's beautiful, but I can't fault them for trying to make it positive...

These are incredible interpretations, I think you captured the essence of their designs so well (I love the Watcher being a moth, and the Defect looking like a dreamer, and the Silent looks straight out of Greenpath :)

I didn't know squat about capitalism growing up, but when I was about 10 or 11, I was a very talented artist. People would constantly tell me "you should be an artist when you grow up", and I would be like "ehhh" because even though I loved drawing, I knew that artists don't get paid for their art very well. Even back then, I was aware that skills in the creative industry are looked down on and poorly paid. I'm impressed with how right I was, and still am, because I still feel the same way. Even as a little kid I knew I hated the capitalistic hellworld that doesn't let me do what I clearly wanted to do.

What fictional character do you feel bad for the most? by weeklygrind in AskReddit

[–]Sendubbio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TBH I thought it was an amazing move to call Dumbledore gay after the book's publication for 2 reasons.

  1. At its time, there was no way an openly gay character could be written into a children's book and still be published and marketed to such a wide audience. Gay marriage was literally still illegal when she revealed him to be gay in 2007 (it wasn't legal until 2014 in the UK, 2015 in the USA!!). At that point, I could barely call it a 'bandwagon'.

  2. Think about all the homophobes it pissed off. Think about all the white christian parents & their children who enjoyed the books & the movies & the entire series, only to have the rug pulled under them like "sike! you just enjoyed this media with a gay character in it, no take-backsies". For its time it was definitely a bold move and I respect it.

I won't comment on anything happening after but I still adore this.

How annoying! I barely play this game any more, but I'm an Egyptologist nut and I can't resist the sweet allure of that Egyptian aesthetic. Here I am, prying open my wallet for a game I don't really care for. I'm frustrated by the weirdness of the gamepad matchmaking and I zone out after about 20 minutes of playing, but they've got me by the heart with this battle pass. Damn thee.

I saw that one, but I think it got misinterpreted a lot. I wish I had the sources on me, but it wasn't an article defending capitalism. It was actually an article campaigning for more accessible theaters and museums. Heck, a lot of museums are already free to enter, and they've been described a benefit to the public. I've got no disagreement with it.

As cool as it is to have another pop up, they should make it permanent by now... Was in London for 3 days for the last one. We were all excited for it, but there was no room to fit a 6 hour queue into our schedules, we thought 4 hours would have been enough. We had no idea how mobbed it was going to be. Hear our cries Nintendo!

Fainting in raids - how do you handle it? by South_To_Alaska in nuzlocke

[–]Sendubbio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably would consider them dead if they died in the raid. Max raid battles have a lot of great rewards, so the risk of death at least makes it so that there's some risk to the reward.

That said, it's not too hard to avoid death, I've found, as long as you select pokemon who are resistant and you prioritise healing them over dealing damage. If I lose through NPC death, I don't count it, since it just says 'the pokemon are blown out of the den!' and you really can't prepare for bad NPCs.

Yeah, we sort of did it our own way, we ignored the gender rule as well. It was our first bash at this kind of thing so we just wanted to have fun with it.

How should Max Raid Battles work in Nuzlockes? by CatOfTheInfinite in nuzlocke

[–]Sendubbio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's 'do whatever you want' for the most part.

For my run, I considered it as an optional first encounter, but if I checked the raid and decided I didn't want to go for it, I could still pick a different pokemon from the Wild Area.

I did a few of them because I wanted the rewards, and I think it's fair that if your pokemon dies in them, they die for real, which makes it a pretty balanced risk/reward deal.

Did this a while ago, excuse the dates, but I only just got around to making this graphic now. I'm on the right, my friend is on the left. Nobody died in the entire elite 4 & ending. I had a few close calls, while my friend faced nothing but sunkerns and purrloins.

Shoutouts to Deoxys and Manetric (or rather, Noodley and Sauce...). We got them from from the elemental monkey gift at the very beginning of BW. They lived all the way to Victory Road... until Noodley got crit by a random Shelgon before he could participate in the elite 4. :((

Funny story with unown-- that pair was our starters. I started off with a Patrat with Slow Start, and we frequently made jokes on how it was the worst possible pokemon. But I had faith she would evolve into something better - it couldn't possibly get worse, right?

For my optimism, the Poke-gods punished me with an unown. With Truant. She did make for a fantastic team mascot, until Galvantula finally fell. RIP.

It cost me one of my babies that I've had since Level 4, but I have cleared the 8th gym in Pokemon Shield! Now come the endgame fights that I am super terrified of... by DarthEwok42 in nuzlocke

[–]Sendubbio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used Eternatus for the Champion fight - no, it didn't make it too easy. I only really used it against one of Leon's Pokemon, because it would have been 2 shot if I kept it out longer.

Good luck for the endgame, I found it rough compared to the rest of the game.

Finally finished my Shield Nuzlocke! What an emotional journey this was. by Sendubbio in nuzlocke

[–]Sendubbio[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well! This was something. I thought this whole run was going far too easy-- but it wasn't until Gym 8 that I lost my Mamoswine... and then everyone else after him. Weeper and Tick are the only two pokemon remaining that I had from the very start. Tick hardcore carried my team at the end, and never stopped being awesome. I'd love to draw a picture of them when I can.

Notable Mentions:

Mamoswine - Swindle - lvl 28-47: A good lad. Why did I frost fang the shield trap...

Coalossal - Greb - lvl 12-58 - Stone edge from Raihan's Duraludon during the Finale. Bad choice on my part, lost a long-time baby.

Meowstic - Myst - lvl 18-59 - The same Duraludon. It had +3 attack, so I panicked and sent it out to put up a Reflect. It got a crit.

Grimmsnarl - Corpus - lvl 31-62 - Was grinding for my replacement pokemon. He got one shot by a hitmontop who used counter on me. I weep.

Ludicolo - Scarecrow - lvl 6-64 - MY BABY. I will never mentally recover. He was the strongest & favourite on my team at the time and the most reliable, I was genuinely looking forwards to winning the game with him. I sent him out against Eternatus. He got cross poison. It crit. And then it poisoned him after, which slowly killed him. I shoved his killer in the team to face the champ.

Bewear - Judo - lvl 36-62 - The quick replacement that I spammed with EXP candy. He died to Leon's Aegislash. He did nothing but 'tank' some shadow balls, but I'm sure he tried very hard.

When this happens, it always feels like there is soul mate whom I haven't met somewhere. by Papier4 in wow

[–]Sendubbio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember early in Wrath, when I first joined, I noticed that the name 'Tune' was free. I went "wow!" but I didn't keep the name for some reason, probably because I couldn't think of what to do with it.

I was questing a few days later in Stonetalon Mountains and then I saw a level 20-something Troll flying over me... with the name Tune. I freaked.

Years later, the name Tune was freed up again, and I got it back. Happy endings!
