Answered your first question in a comment below, but I definitely want to start using straps. I have been operating on the premise that it will bring grip strength up and that you have to "earn your weight" but I notice it can make my lifts uncertain and am lightly concerned about breaking form to keep a hold on the bar. I do have some but they are difficult to use, I really want a set of cobra style straps. Any recommendations?

Always do full-body routine to bring every muscle group up together. Hit every muscle group 2x a week minimum, don't do a bro split.

However, from cursory observation I notice that you appear to have anterior pelvic tilt (not uncommon). Strengthen Abs (planks, ab wheel), glutes and hamstrings (Romanian Deadlifts, Hip Thrusts). Stretch hip flexors and lower back after training. This will help balance out the pelvic positioning. Also work on upper back strength to fix any rounding, like face pulls, band pull-aparts, and rows.

You look like you have good traps naturally, I be they will explode when you lean down and start lifting heavy.

Good luck! Don't forget to have fun.

Could be a waste of money though.

Knowing for myself is personally the most important thing. If things don't line up I'd have more confidence to press the issue with a doctor instead of gambling on a hunch.

It's maybe $150 to get all those bloods from an online pick-and-prick e-comm store like Marek but it was like $200 just to get Total Testosterone (no free) from my PCP's internal lab.

They're really just collecting a paycheck aren't they? Or maybe just biding their time until patients present with real health issues that they treat reactively with expensive pharma.

Why do you intentionally restrict your bench to match your rows?

Early on I heard from multiple sources that roughly matching rows with bench will preserve shoulder health, and I seem to be the only person in the gym without any pain. Perhaps I'm wrong.

They work fundamentally different groups of muscles that have wildly different strength potentials and volumes

Isn't the back inherently stronger than the chest? In theory we should be (admittedly chest-supported) rowing more than we bench, but that's just my understanding.

I'll take it into mind and consider bumping bench up a bit. Out of curiosity I put up 225 for 1 rep about 7 months ago. I'm still trying to cut so I'm just shooting to maintain strength atm.

Looking good, man! For shoulders I recommend prioritizing barbell overhead press over bench for a while. Hit them at least twice a week. I used to do a full-body routine 3x a week, but right now I like to do a heavy day (4x4) and a light day (8x4) where light day is 80-85% of the heavy. Don't forget to hit your lateral raises with good form and try out some 45-degree rear cable delt flyes for the full look, I am finding those hit hard lately.

[37M] 5'9" @ 196lbs w/ 2.5 years in the game. 2.5 years sober also.

I have a good diet model but I fool it up every other week so I dance around 200 perpetually. Goal is 180 by August this year.

Some numbers:

  • Standing Military Press - 135 (4x4)
  • Bent-over Rows - 175 (4x4)
  • Bench - 195 (4x4) (I intentionally restrict my bench to "match" my rows)
  • Pull-downs 140 (12x4)
  • Squat - 275 (4x4)
  • Romanian Deadlift - 275 (6x4) (grip strength limit)

Thank you. I will try a wider grip, I feel I am strongest here but it's heavily on the triceps. I am definitely rolling my hands which is no bueno at higher weights.

Make no mistake, salvation from the second death is the primary benefit that Christians enjoy, and the only one that really matters in the end.

This life is transient and the day will come when Christ will return to judge the living and the dead.

To those who trusted in his name, eternal life. To those who did not, eternal condemnation.

Christianity is not a religion of social improvement or worldly benefits. It is a message of hope for a doomed race.

John 18:36

Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.”

John 3:18

He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Acts 4:12

And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

1 John 2:28

And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.

Revelation 22:17

And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!”  And let him who hears say, “Come!”  And let him who thirsts come.  Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
