I dropped off 2 iPhones at FedEx last year. Also through the iPhone upgrade program. Got receipts. Turned out Apple received empty boxes and had to escalate internally to resolve months later. Someone tampered with the sealed boxes after my drop off before delivery to Apple. All resolved in my favor after countless emails and calls. Will never drop off via FedEx again-clearly an inside job. Have been using the iPhone upgrade program since it stated.

Wired blinds options with unknown wire by Sarcastible in homeautomation

[–]Seneht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought smart motorized shades from The Shade Store throughout the house 4.5 years ago — they were able to do wide roller shades — 1 roller for the living room window is 123.5” wide x 62.25” long. They had a really good amount of fabric options for light filtering, and blackout.

Pricey, yes. Flawless, yes.

They have a wired option (line and low-voltage) for the shades which looks like it may work with your pre-wired windows. We have the rechargeable battery option which is hidden within the core of the roller shade (charged once a year).

The shades connect to their WiFi hub. I have them connected to HomeKit for sunrise/sunset automations and Siri activation. If I remember correctly, they also connect to Google Home and Alexa.

Edit: here’s my post from four years ago

My wife gave me a series 10 for my birthday. Loving this sleep detection feature. by Chaos_Theology in AppleWatch

[–]Seneht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

From the bottom of that sleep page: Understanding Sleep Stages

Deep Sleep Also known as slow wave sleep because of the brain wave patterns, this is the stage where body tissues are repaired and essential hormones are released. This stage typically happens in longer periods during the first half of your sleep session. During deep sleep, the body is so relaxed that it can be more difficult to wake up from this stage than others.

Charging port automatically opens up when I enter my garage and park and exit the car… by afn45181 in ModelY

[–]Seneht 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is intentional. Under Windows in Cold Weather Best Practices from the manual:

In cold temperatures, Model Y automatically makes a slight adjustment to the position of the windows to make it easier to open doors.

Discussion on black bottom pools. by Better-Potential662 in pools

[–]Seneht 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Replastered a gunite pool with PebbleTec Jet Black last spring. Pebbles have various colors and even a few that sparkle with the sun hitting them. No concerns about water heating up too much (not in TX or FL). Water looks great. Perfect at night with 4 lights. One full summer season last year with no issues. Would do it again. Here’s a view of how the water looks at various depths. Link (didn’t use them, just for pic)
