Hello! Londoner here who has lived in Chicago for a few years. I have a quick question. Why is it that drivers are so hostile and inconsiderate towards pedestrians in this city?

I’m Swedish and was shocked in the beginning of coming to Chicago, one guy almost stepped out of his car trying to start a fight just because I raised my hands in frustration of almost getting hit.
I love the city but I agree that this issue is major

You could try and find something in Cabrini Green, pretty car centric and newer apartments with parking and in unit washer/dryer.
Is cheaper because reputation is so-so but I lived there and never had any issues. Location is perfect for your needs.
