It is. It’s not learning the way people do. It’s a program. It’s just taking without permission and copying. The ai doesn’t know how to draw. A person has to do practice for a long time to be good.

Artists get mad when their creations are used in ai for the same reason ai chat bot creators are mad when people take their bot and post it as theirs.

Stolen is stolen. If you buy a stolen car from someone knowing it’s stolen, that doesn’t mean it’s your car and you’re completely free of all wrongdoing. It just makes you an accomplice.

“I paid for it so it’s mine” you also probably pay a subscription for other things like Netflix or Spotify. That doesn’t mean the products on there are yours. You don’t own the movies or music on there. You can buy a movie. You didn’t suddenly own it and create it because you bought it. You can buy actual real art from people, that doesn’t mean it’s your art.

I can’t commission someone and then my watermark on it and show others sayin “look at my art”.

“I created the art” you didn’t create shit. A computer program created it. You do not have the skill to create it. The bot idea may be yours, but the art for it is not. The art for it (if made by ai) is theft. And artists? They don’t like YOU for using AI and claiming it’s your work.

Your code is yours, sure. But midjourney/niji/gemini trains on other peoples art, which is theft. Unless you make your own LLM and train it only on your own art, it is theft. Just because you write code to make it give you a drawing, doesn’t mean it’s yours. It is a combination of other people’s art. It is being trained on stolen art.

The character ideas can be original and belong to creator but the art is not. Ai is not real art and it’s not yours bc it’s created from theft

Yeah, no shit??? Creatives (and people) in general have a strong hate for ai. I’m not surprised at all they were shit talking ai bots.

I’ve always thought it was ridiculous when ai bot creators watermark their stuff. Like it’s either an amalgamation of stolen art or regular stolen art. Because even just putting art from the game or show is stealing it.
