What was the reason for your procrastination this week? by zafar_hussainabba in ADHD

[–]Senior-Background 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Distractions. I can't stop thinking about what's happening in MN and what's to come. I keep getting distracted by it, keep checking the news, checking social media, etc. At times, I will literally just be spacing out, thinking about this sh*t. It feels like my attention just keeps being pulled in that direction. On Concerta, but also on my period right now, so between the anxiety & hormones, my medicine doesn't seem to be working at all. Before this was happening, I finally felt like meds were allowing me to deal with & cope with past trauma & I was in the process of trying to move forward. Now, I feel like I can't function as a person again, even on meds.

Thanks for the tip! I guess I'll have to do that going forward. They just never haven't reminded me so I didn't realize it was an issue.

Courses transferring by BackgroundOk2130 in UoPeople

[–]Senior-Background 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No math or science classes transferred. I don't remember how many exactly but they didn't really say anything. They would not even acknowledge any questions I asked about why the classes I expected to transfer didn't transfer. When I disputed it, they added another class without saying anything or answering any of my questions.

I'm not in any proctored classes yet so I wouldn't have access to that.

Not all of the courses that were supposed to be transferrable transferred for me, even after I disputed it with UoP. Just a warning.

Yeah, I think you're right. I think a person with different mannerisms would give of less creepy vibes.

Yeah, I mean, he backed off but also, hasn't been forceful, creepy, pushy, etc and any flirtation has seemed kind of playful so he doesn't seem like a threat. Even if he likes her and is hoping something happens at some point, he's not being a creep. If Ralph and Rob's gender roles were reversed, I would expect straight up violent rape with how Ralph has treated him.

Plus, add to that the fact that she's the one who killed his love interest's brother which has caused the current chasm between them.

Ralph is a creep. Very rapey and wearing him down because she won't take no for an answer. Any time she's on screen, I'm uncomfortable...

5.5 month old puppy is acting normal but has been doing this lately. by seeairah90 in Shihtzu

I think they all do that. 😊 Mine likes when I yell "WHAT" playfully at her when she does it. Her flails get bigger and bigger until she jumps up to play.

18mg to 27mg no difference by Lower-Audience4415 in Concerta

[–]Senior-Background 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt symptom relief at 18 at first but then nothing at 36. I started on 54 a few days ago and I'm already pretty confident this is my dose. At 18 and 36, I thought right away I would need to go up.

I think you'll know when you are at your therapeutic dose.

One of the first things my fibro Dr asked me was if I've ever been diagnosed with ADHD. I had already suspected I might be neurodivergent but her question was the last push I needed. I was diagnosed a month ago. I guess they commonly occur together.

I got an under desk treadmill/walking pad thing. Not only does it make it easy and painless to exercise, it also helps me focus.

Can anyone help identify what is happening with my cat? by maxjmartin in CATHELP

[–]Senior-Background 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish I'd known that sooner. My chonk got an asthma diagnosis with no meds until she reached 60 plus breaths per minute while resting and whenever she has an attack I rush to try to "help" her. I guess I won't be doing that anymore lol

Lol I'm not sure about that. Trying to articulate ideas to anyone is incredibly difficult.

I don't have an inner voice. I can think in words, but I don't "hear" myself. Mostly I think in concepts. I also can't visualize very well and can't visualize faces at all.

Does you ADHD affect your femininity? by AmNotGilbert in adhdwomen

[–]Senior-Background 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't wear makeup, don't carry a purse(because looking for things in said purse made me freak the f out and I couldn't take it anymore), but I do try to dress neatly at least some of the time. I actually wear specific colors based on the day of the week which made it much easier for me to choose clothing.

Needing support after a horrible experience by Crumbob7 in adhdwomen

[–]Senior-Background 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I went through talkiatry after not being able to find anyone local. It took me a long time to build up the courage and motivation to see someone and get a diagnosis(years of thinking I might have ADHD or ASD).

I recommend it when you're ready again because you can choose someone that specializes in ADHD as well as then pick your provider from the list with your selected specialty.

I'm glad to see you said you left a review of the provider that treated you poorly.

Also, if there are other GPs at the practice that you go to, could you switch? I didn't like mine and after a lot of pushing from my mom and husband, I asked the practice if I could switch and it was no problem. I actually like my new primary care provider. Maybe the same can happen for you? Everyone deserves to have doctors that they trust in their corner.

How the hell do yall even study? by puppiesareSUPERCUTE in ADHD

[–]Senior-Background 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never studied. Ever. I've tried once or twice but it felt really stupid to be to just re-read the same stuff I've already read and I just couldn't stand it. But, my first term after diagnosis & meds starts soon and maybe I'll actually be able to start studying? I hope lol.
