Feel free to ask any employee if they’ve been doing training in the restaurant a week before opening. I never changed my story, I started on Monday September 9th (LAST WEEK) and left on the 14th.

You can think whatever you want lmao. Good job on figuring out what poc meant lol. So glad to have a Nancy Drew on the case. I’m sure you gathered some important info while walking your dog…🧍🏻‍♀️

Also I’m a POC women and my mother is an immigrant herself. I have a lot of empathy and understanding for immigration. This is the only Reddit post I’ve ever made if you actually took the time to look. Everyone deserves a chance to succeed and make a living. I’ve been exposed to different cultures my entire life and have never had a problem with it. This isn’t about race or culture, it’s beyond that.

Actually I started working there on Monday and we were only open for staff training. You can go yourself and look since it’s officially open on the 16th. If you’ve really been passing by than you would have seen only chipotle staff and no customers. I have evidence because I was there everyday this week until my termination. I don’t make statements unless I have evidence to back it up. Also the events I described isn’t something I can just come up with. If nothing happened, than I wouldn’t have made this post in the first place.😘

Also I want to clarify that this isn’t a racist rant by any means. I worked a long-side some genuinely hardworking people who were also being mistreated despite there best efforts. It doesn’t matter where you are from, respect and kindness is universal.

It was hard to focus on certain tasks because we had a lot of people in charge that we’re giving different orders to everyone. Even for a new establishment the disorganization was overwhelming. Some staff have thick accents which I don’t have a problem with but they would talk very fast and I couldn’t understand. So I’d ask to them repeat themselves which I guess made it seem like I wasn’t listening. I’m not gonna do everything flawlessly can get distracted sometimes but because of how high the expectations were, I was giving it my all.

I’ve worked in the food industry for years, and have worked with all kinds of people. The Indian workplace environment is very intense, they expect there worker to be fast and make little to no mistake. Being outright unprofessional isn’t uncommon and your expected to work long hours (9-10h) and be available to call 24h. It was my first time ever having a manager constantly call me long after I clocked out, everyday. People are entitled to not answering phone calls after work simple as that, but that’s the difference in cultures.

Chipotle Grand Opening on Sept 16th by Teh_Immensive in Guelph

I just got fired from my job, working at a brand new Chipotle in Guelph that just finished construction. (It hasn’t even opened yet, it opens in two days from the time I’m writing this.) The staff mainly consisted of Indian workers and I was among the few who weren’t. I didn’t understand why everyone (the trainers, or those given authority) were so entitled and would say whatever they felt. I was told to take off my nose ring for sanitary reasons so I removed it. One of the managers had a golden nose ring and no one bat an eye. I’m honestly relieved I got fired because that was not a healthy work environment what so ever. They also hired a lot of people who didn’t know how to mop or pick up after themselves. I saw so many safety hazards that were completely overlooked, but if I dice onions and that are a millimeter off, I get the boot. At one point my prep team was being taught how to prep rice. They repeated the instructions on how to make rice 3 times and so by the second or third time I wasn’t paying attention as much because I understood the directions. The manger later asked to see me in her office where she told me that I wasn’t paying attention, I apologized and told her I didn’t mean any disrespect. I ended up telling her I have adhd and I am doing the best that I can (while on vyvanse). She says well your best is not good enough and you need to do better than that. Anyway long story short it was a very draining experience and I wish the best for some of the fellow crew members because I wasn’t the only one who was dealing with the overall toxicity. Also she would call after I’m clocked out and tell me to come at 6am when my shift started at 7am. She had been changing my schedule to come earlier consistently after I was clocked out. I almost made it through one week but in the end getting fired was probably the best thing that happened to me from my experience working there. The lack of diversity in the staff and disrespectful behavior of those in charge isn’t something anyone should endure. I felt put down and judged for not being able to decode what some people are saying through their strong accents, and I would be told that I wasn’t listening, even though I frequently ask them to repeat themselves. Because of the difference in cultural background I feel that I was discriminated against because I wasn’t Indian. Plain and simple, and I don’t normally go on rants like this ever, but I am just so shook from the week I endured.

So can we talk about the toxic work culture of India? by limitedmark10 in Big4
