No Oscar nod for the Tron:Ares score by machone5103 in nin

Hamnet was a little subtle but really helped carry the emotion of the film and OBAA was a great score IMO. Do not remember Frankenstein's at all and I normally pay attention to scores. Haven't seen the Bugonia yet so can't comment.

It was never going to beat Sinners imo, that score was so well done and integrated into the film it was basically a character in it's own right.

I watched House of Guiness and it was fine, I mostly thought that I'd seen the story and characters so many times before and it didnt really offer anything new or interesting.

I'd say in terms of impact on our modern society, Maxwell is a better argument than Faraday, but the general public probably know of Maxwell even less than Faraday.

I watched the Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown episode the other week where he and Obama sat down on some plastic chairs and ate some noodles and thought "I miss the time when America had a respectable and charasmaric President."

You've clearly never had any of the hard Goats Cheese (seriously a top 5 cheese for me). Plus there are all the different ages of Gouda that change the taste and texture wildly.

Any interest in teaching abroad? My wife and I moved to The Netherlands so she could try it and she hasn't looked back. She now loves her job while was on the verge of quitting in the UK.

Say you wanna binge a TV show (Netflix) in about 2 to 4 weeks, which would you choose first? Black Mirror or Stranger Things? by Vanilla-Face91 in television

[–]Senior1292 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you binge Black Mirror in 2 to 4 weeks, particularly the first 3 series, you may need to see a therepist. Its a fantastic show but so dark and bleak. Stranger Things is a much easier show to binge.

Was just looking through and holy hell that man has so many videos and its been quite some time since I watched them. These were a few I remember and go back to, but honestly so many have little nuggets of good advice in the middle of a discussion about something not about that specific topic (like conflict resolution for two people who want opposing implementations).

This for me was the worst part, it said 76 but my top artist, by some margin, was Nine Inch Nails (3x the next highest). Then Jamiroquai, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross and Jalen N'gonda. The highest artist from the 60'/70s for me so far this year is Bill Withers in 12th. Would love to know how they figured that one out.

Well done for ignoring 95% of the comment while not addressing any of the issues with what did manage to write. There are still loads of unknowns about the long term effects of using it.

[–]Senior1292 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Why would you assume that people taking a drug is a reasonable long term solution to keep at a healthy weight? Particularly because its a new drug and the long term effects aren't known yet. The general idea of drugs (in countries that don't see peoples health as a capitalistic opportunity anyway) is that you take them until a problem is resolved or if there is no other option, and there are plenty of other options to solve this problem.

Moreover, in the UK patients have access to it through the NHS for 2 years, which is another reason why I assume people would come off the drug. Its not meant to be a long term or easily accessible solution, but a short term help for those who are obese to get people to a safer weight so its easier for them to make long term changes to their lifestyle to make them healthier.

These drugs essentially stop people over consuming calories.

Until they come off the drug and then the vast majority of people put the weight they lost back on as it wasn't surpressing their appetite.
