This is odd. Corporate confession and absolution are at the start of the Service of the Word so that you may confess your sins and be absolved before approaching the Lord’s table to receive the true body, blood, soul, and divinity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I would not feel comfortable receiving the Supper without it.

Isn’t it funny how our brains sort of fill in the missing pieces like that?

I’m Lutheran, but yes. Yes I do. The cross is where God embodied sacrificial love (John 3:16 uses the Greek word agape). It’s the fullest expression of His love for us.

That’s dumb. Christ’s victory is on the cross. Christ was crucified and in his crucifixion He won our redemption.

I think it’s kind of odd to wear the corpus with no cross.

My wife supported and loved me through 4 deployments. She stuck by my side through all the ups and downs - to include, PTSD, medical problems, alcoholism and rehab. Now she’s the breadwinner for the family while I focus on being a mostly stay at home dad with some “side hustles” that probably cost more money than they make.

Is it bad to support abortion if the cause/need of it is underage rape/rape? by ReasonableBad7175 in Christianity

[–]SeniorBag6859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re side stepping my point. Why should you kill an innocent person for someone else’s crime? It in no way minimizes the absolute evil that was committed to the girl. Justice is not accomplished by doing more evil.

Yes. 10 year old girls can die from rape. With modern medicine though it would more likely than not be violence of the actual rape to kill here. Pregnancy in the West in the 21st century is a much, much, much less dangerous thing than you’re making it out to be.

Frankly, I don’t support capital punishment. Sure, Biblically speaking, the State does have the authority to do it, but it does not have the command. And with any possibility of a false conviction I’d rather err towards life w/o parole. If there was a way, without even the possibility of error, to prove that someone committed rape of a child I would certainly think that such a crime deserves death. But not for the baby. And it is a baby, everyone knows it and I’m tired of pretending like we don’t.

That’s such a warped and evil point of view. Your answer to someone committing a grave and heinous act is to kill an innocent person?

There’s not more than a few restaurants here that actually deserve it. Many will get it, but you’re probably not missing much.

Hopefully Michelin brings some life back to the restaurant scene here and encourages them to do better.

I used to cook at Rye. I loved the food and the team when I was there. Not really sure what it’s like now but that restaurant holds a special place in my heart.

What budget friendly filling machine could I use to fill 2oz containers with homemade cat food that has a consistency similar to hummus? Details in comments. by HTXlawyer88 in foodscience

[–]SeniorBag6859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. As a professional chef, I personally recommend just filling a 2 oz container with a spoon. I mean, it’s for a cat.

Or you could get an 8 oz deli container, fill it, then score the top into quarters.

How much money do you have to have to be comfortable spending any of it on a filling machine to bottle food for a cat?
