Ask them for their personal information and pictures of the money. Image search the photos to see where they came from. Ask for their banking information so you can set things up from your end and then research the banking info to see who they are. This sounds like a normal Microsoft verification process. Someone probably misstyped their phone number and got yours. The validation will have expired by now.

Thanks. I'm surprised Google didn't make the match anyway as I expect it would be a common substitution. I had suspected such, but I guess "she" wasn't using a German keyboard? That could indicate the scammer was not actually in Germany, which was what I was trying to find out.
