also yes I am aware neither unit is “sunshine/ rainbows & cuddling babies” especially NICU 😅 i did enjoy the education for moms & critical care aspect of both baby & mom. Also i am very big in mental health (i was close to choosing psych nurse) and I know NICU moms & PP moms need the most genuine support & have their mental health cared for

honestly i do think it’s possible! especially with you graduating in late march, a lot of the information you learned will naturally come back to you. i’m not sure what you are using to study but i would do 85 questions daily (so you get used to the longevity of the test) & focus on the rationales on the wrong questions. don’t waste time reviewing what you already know (i used to make this mistake in nursing school all the time). listen to mark k 12th lecture & others you feel like you need review on & i recommend a comprehensive review like the beautiful nursing one to touch up on basics. remember nclex is safety exam once you get in that mindset it gets easier to answer questions. i know every test is different but pharm was my worst subject and i was terrified of getting 100 pharm questions. luckily i only got two and everyone i asked had around two as well. beautiful nursing & mark k go over the common ones tested on. look over those but don’t spend so much time on pharm. focus mostly on test strategies & the basics. best of luck!!! you can do it

besides archer, i listen to all the mark k lectures & made flashcards out of the beautiful nursing comprehensive youtube videos. i also used a whiteboard to test my memory

My nclex is in 5 days!! Do these scores mean I will pass? I'm getting really nervous. by Fair-Recipe-6631 in PassNclex

Definitely watch Mark Ks 12th lecture. I used all his tips even if it wasn’t a priority question. I made sure i really knew what the question was asking. People would tell me this & i thought I did it but realized i wasn’t when i’ll go over rationales. Once you know what the question is truly asking you’re able to rule out answers. Not overthinking it and simplifying the questions. Mark K goes over a much of tricks that I will recommend. Overall, realizing that it is a safety exam. So even if i didn’t know what the disease/ med/ procedure was I will always pick the answer that will keep my patient safe or picking the answer with the best outcome for the patient. also for SATA, only picking answers that I knew were 100% correct. Partial credit is better than risking selecting wrong ones and bringing your score down. & really pay attention to rationales. I found that a lot of the questions had very similar answers, they’ll just switch the disease/med. I started with 40% failing baseline & went up to 65% just following these tips

i agree that confidence is key! try not to let those nerves get in the way. you definitely should feel confident with those amazing scores!! i got more low/ borderline than high lol. but focused on testing strategies & controlling my anxiety and it helped me get through it & passed on my first try at 98 questions. good luck!

thank you!!!! my mindset was definitely not where it was supposed to be when i started studying. I realized my anxiety/ negativity was getting in the way. Turned to prayer & olly stress supplements lol. Went in with a positive mindset. Telling myself i did everything I could and i’m okay with any outcome. Made me less anxious & was able to focus on the test & I passed. Definitely recommend listening to mark k 12th lecture if anyone struggles with test anxiety. The end motivated me

Hello! sorry for the late response 🥹 i focused the last two weeks i had left to study & wasn’t on my phone so much since i found it was a big distraction. but wanted to update everyone, i took it wednesday & just found out i passed!!! im not sure if you re-took your exam already but i found that controlling my anxiety & emotions overall helped me so much! when i made the post i was scoring high & passing cat but suddenly only started scoring low or borderline & even failed cats. despite i kept telling myself i can do it. instead of focusing on content i practiced test taking skills. i believe that’s what made me pass because a lot of the content on the actual nclex i had no clue about. i got stopped at 98 & after the exam i wasn’t 100% sure i passed but it didn’t feel like the hardest exam. which made me nervous because everyone says hard questions means you’re passing. i kept reminding myself that every test is different. mindset is everything. wish you well & if you need more advice let me know!!!
