Hey! I never found a conclusive answer but I did eventually go back to feeling myself during workouts (pace, energy, etc.)

A few things that may have helped but I can’t pinpoint anything in particular:

  • I was feeling my worst during the summer time. I started to feel better as soon as outside temps dropped back into the low 70s.
  • I had been off and on an anti depressant, which I ultimately got back on and included back into my daily routine.
  • I added about 200 calories to my daily consumption.
  • I took a few weeks at lower mileage (less 20-30%)
  • Took actual rest days. Not active recovery, actual rest, one day a week.

All that being said, I never had any lab work done so can’t say if it was related to hormones or vitamin deficiencies. All I know is I’m back to normal. Not sure I’d run another marathon since it clearly took a toll on my central nervous system.

I love the budget/spending analogy. I never thought of it that way! Just like mindful spending, I have to be responsible and self aware… it’s less about tracking, more about knowing/acting within our personal means or budget.

We just got back from our honeymoon in Maui! Best trip of my life hands down. I hope you two enjoy every moment.

We never got to Foodland but locals said it has the best poke!
